I saw that on a tv show a few years ago. Might have been the history channel. There were no explosives in the bomb dropped by the aircraft but were placed afterwards for dramatic effect. They had to place bouys made from every inflatable pool toy for miles around to guide the "bomber" in but it all worked out. Great fun to watch it come together.

It was "Ice Pilots" in 2011.

Yes I remember watching it, they had a narrow window of time from spinning up the "bomb" to taking off and getting to the drop point since they didn't have a motor on the drop cradle
