COMRADES!!!

Is GLORIOUS day in great Soviet Union!  Presented below is first in series of aircraft deployed aboard our powerful class of Sovietski Soyuz class of aircraft carriers.  The Sovietski Soyuz, and the others of the class (the Sovietski Ukrania and the Sovietski Belarus...  did I mention that my Soviet Navy is truly Glorious?), operated this interceptor starting in the late 60's until 1980 when they were replaced by the more capable Mig-23K.

Did I mention that this model is 1/72 scale, from some country in eastern Europe, and the fitting is P-O-O-R?

Comrade Anthonypski, once more we have demonstrated the superiority of socialist thought in all areas!  The western capitalist pigs will insult our superior technology only to hide their fear that their days of oppressing the masses are soon to come to an end at the hands of our glourious peoples armed forces.

As for the poor fit of the parts, I'm sure Comrade Lacombeski or General Vesperanolivich can recommend a suitable gulag for those responsible.

Now that gives me a big gigantic cold war stiffy.

What this what-if is crying out for is to be redone with the Trumpeter 1/48 kit (which is awesome).  That is so totally sweet it makes me want to squeal like a pinched valley girl.

Nyet, comrade.  I was toying with the idea of making the plane a VSTOL, but it was not deemed possible with the centerline droptank.  I figured that the powerful catapults aboard the Sovietski Soyuz class carriers would propel this anti-western warbird into the air for fleet defense.  This does not mean a VSTOL version is not possible, just need to acquire another poor-fitting kit from that eastern Eurpoean country.

Thank you, comrades, for the accolades, but I do not do this for personal glory!  It is done for the greater glory of the Revolution and Rodina!  Next up, a trip back to the past with a plane for the Rodina's airwing, then to the future...

(fade out Soviet National Anthem...)

Maybe a bit too decadent.

We'll run a background check on him, just in case.
