WOW Eddie! Your kit bashing skits are amazing. :o   I really like your F-16/18 kitbash especially, the paint scheme on the F-4/18 kit bash, and the A-10 Firehog you built.  Simply amazing Eddie.  Good to have you hear at the What If site :f16:
Man, we should have cloned twenties. Jackson wouldn't have given a poo-poo.

Keith,
Thanks for the kind words. Considering that I haven't been doing this very long, the compliments are very much appreciated.
Two new photos. Redesigned the tanks and finished the main wheel wells(Enlarged them). I used B-58 drop tank parts to make the fairings for the wells.   ^_^

Thank you for your enthuasium! I pretty sure that I'm done with the rework of the wells and did a dry fit of a new drop tank and weapon. Tomorrow ,if it doesn't rain, primer coat.

Terrific work.

Serious question though - given the size of the fusalage undersurface, would it act as a lifting body and contribute to lift in some way and help short take off's ? Having seen the interview with the IDF pilot who landed an Eagle with one wing, part of the reason for that was that the fusalge contributed to lift - so with this much ?

It's funny you should mention that, because I thought of the same thing. I think I've narrowed the"mission" of the aircraft to a high altitude bomber like the B-70. The way I figure it, the area of the whole body would give it a better preformance in the thin air. Plus you gotta give it as much help as possible to get that much weight into the air  Which brings me to the decision I've got to make on the paint. So many options....

First primer coat is on and a new creature is born. B) This thing is big. I'm going to have to find a new home for at least two of my models on the shelf for the room this one is going to take up.

Well the top view of the "wing glove" makes her look almost capable of carrying the double swing wing as in Deino's recent Russian MRCA concept post

Isn't it absolutely magical when you finally hit the hybrid bits and pieces with grey primer?!  That is one of the things I hope all builders on this site will eventually experience.  Once it comes together under that first, uniform paint basecoat, you suddenly realize "this looks plausible and it is my very own, original creation."

This is looking fantastic, Eddie, and will be so impressive on a stand next to "regular" birds.

So....figured out a final scheme, yet?

Tonight I have a bit of progress to report. I've got the paint lined up
and got a little work done on the smaller stuff. I'm toying with the
idea of painting the intakes and W/Ws a light shade of gray so as
not to have a large contrast. Does anyone know of an aircraft that
does have other than white for these areas? I'd at least like to
keep one foot stuck in reality. :D

I know both the USAF and USN paint their wheel wells white for a reason, it lets you see leaks earlier than any other color would and leaks there are not good.

The intakes as well. Good point. That's all I ever saw in the Navy and that's why it goes against every fiber of my being to change the color. I thought I'd try something different, but maybe that contrast of white and black(ebony & ivory anyone?) will work.
