Here are two rather far out what ifs - in the 1950s the US Navy evaluates and likes the Republic F-84F (don't know why, unless it had a much bigger engine).  They buy a batch as the Republic F2R (would this be right?)

In the 60s, a bunch of suplus F2Hs in the boneyard are converted to pilotless drones to attack bridges in NVN.  They are flown at low level remotely to the target, hence the SEA scheme.

LOVE the way that the banshee looks in that paint...

i've long harboured the urge to build an f-100 in usn colours, but have never (will never) get around to it....hopefully she'll look half as good as your f-84!

The Banshee almost looks like a baby Canberra in that scheme - love it

The F84 has got me thinking about a USN or USM RF84, now they might have gone with that ?

Chris
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Nice work! I really like the F-84 in the old USN colors.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

To me, the "old USN" scheme was the best looking ever, and in my "what if world", it is worn by F-14s, F-18s, all F-4s and even the Navy JSF.

In my fleet, the Navy version of the F-15 also wears it, as does the F8U-3 and even a few F7Fs.

Soon to be added to the fleet will be the Martin A2M Sea Canberra (inspired by a posing from Jennings several months ago).

I've got the same feeling about the old RCN two-grey paint scheme, Wes...it's just too sweet to pass up ! Especially when you add day-glo panels and that sweet, sweet leafy roundel !

That F-84 looks just right! Sweet! Banshee works well for me 'cos it  looks kinda Voodoo like in my scattered brain.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid
