It's the Zut Alor 945..famed for it's 7 engined, 2 fueled, Tractor/Pusher/Tractor/Pusher arrangement and a wild variety of ineffectual weapons, combines with a promenade deck to entertain Diplomats and Air Staff Officers...
Ok..so I made it up!

Ooooh!  It's a monoplane Heyford!  Pardon me, a monoplane Heyforde...  A pretty neat looking aircraft in the Barling Bomber/ Potez line -

Funniest thing about it was it was originally made to annoy a hobby shop owner, but he liked it so much he put it in his window on display. He finally had to remove it as people would argue over it being real or not...(usually the 8 year old kid was right and his Dad was wrong!)

Are you sure it's French?  It is ugly enough to possibly be British.

I'd say it has to be a French bomber from the early/mid 1930's when they were even uglier than British designs of the same period.  It greatly resembles some of what you'll see here for the years 1030 through 1938.

Design of it actually stemmed from an arguement as to which country made the uglier plane, the UK or France. So I built what I thought would be the ugliest plane I could come up with, yet still look Gallic. In fact, it kinda wound up looking not all that bad!
However, if you really want ugly, look at the stuff the Soviets were making then...seriously ugly, and some were even put into service!

I'm still scratching my head, wondering if Alvis is putting us on, or not.

The JMN in me (and yes, we ALL have a bit of that in each of us) tells me it's quite probably real...

The JHM in me (thank your lucky stars you don't have THAT in you!) says simply:
"Cool What If!"

Alvis, you and Matrixone would be a dangerous combination!!   B)

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

OI!!!!! You cheeky git. WE always designed purposeful; elegant looking machines, unlike some of the contraptions that other countries produced.

So Alvis does the promenade deck have a Maitre'd ?

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid
