Thanks for letting me play!

Late in the war the USN was very interested in the success of bubble canopy conversions on the Thunderbolt and Mustang.  The USN ordered 2 protype Hellcats with bubble canopies and an uprated R-2800 engine with a 4 bladed prop.  As tested this last model F6F flew like a dream, managed 425+ MPH and provided excellent visibility.  The war ended and the two prototypes dissapeared into oblivion.

An excellent introduction, that thing looks just soooooooo right!

And welcome aboard, check yer brain cells at the door.  ^_^

Where do you hail from? (Half the board is hoping you say 'Canada', the other half is thinking 'Oh bloody hell, I hope he's not another one'.)  :P

My sentiments exactly. Welcome to the madhouse.

Wellcome aboard.

Nice simple idea, well executed. Would look good as the missing link in a line up of Wildcat, Hellcat, Yourcat and Bearcat

Hi Guys, I hail from the good 'ol USA, outside of Columbus, OH.  Thanks for the comments regarding my models.  I've been lurking for a while and you guys have given me the inspiration to build a couple of what if ideas I've been kicking around.

Welcome to the madness.

Well, well, well, yet another wannabe-Canadian (sorry Markm70, as you can see in the quote, my PC automatically "edits" the intro messages of most new recruits to the site!)

Great kit, like Narses says, would look great in a line-up  :)

I like the idea. would cause a few double takes on any display stand.

Looks great in that scheme.  :D
Welcome to the funny farm

I've chanted the "Storm Blows" more than once.  Boy, I do miss the Columbus Chill and ECHL Hockey.  Thanks for letting me in the nuthouse.

Delicious
Where does the canopy comes from?
It does not look like a P-51D's, maybe a Bearcat from the same Grumman factory?
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

LOVE IT - believeable and well executed!
