During the 'Berlin Airlift', Comrade Colonel Vlad Kakov was personally responsible for the destruction of 3 transport planes over the 'air corridor'. Two C-47'S and One C-54 were destroyed by the pilot referred to by the Allied crews as 'Vlad the Impaler'. The very sight of his 'red' La-157 was enough to frighten anyone.
Seen here taking off from his base in East Germany.

Whoo!  A Russian Me. 1101, with radar and swing wings!  Who'd a thunk it?  I'd love to see a shot of it from another angle.

Thanks for this analysis... At fist sight, I was completely puzzled: "what is this?"...
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

Not very eco-friendly with that smoke, but great work Glen

Chris
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

cool, but I second the Captain's request:  More more, we want more :P

QuoteNot very eco-friendly with that smoke,
Ever seen a Phantom smoke? Speaking of eco-unfriendlyness, and he's got 2 of them smokepipes.

Hi guys,
There will be more shots of her 'eventually', and as to what it is, well, she started off as a Bell X-5, (the Revell 1/40th model) and I just made it as Russian as possible.
The smoke, well I have seen a MiG-15 take off, and it almost sets the alarms off. Back in the late 40's~early 50's they were 'burners'.
I chose La-157, as they only went up to 155, in their expermental series, and it was 1940's in design.

Well, I had the right idea, almost.

I like the back story, too.  A very interesting beginning for the new "Air Force".  As if the challenge of the airlift wasn't enough!
