Hello everybody, My name is Nils, im new here on this forum.
off all the hobbies i got, model aircraft is definitly my favorite, ive been at it since i was 12 and already got more than 220 aircraft in my collection.

Now lets get back on topic  :) ,

my first attempt at a "what if" model is this Revell Hawker Tempest Mk.1 i got from my sister. when i recieved it, it had no decals and no cockpit canopy.
so in one word, perfect.

i decided to paint the model in a 2-tone RAF camo with a white botom and in the marking off the Belgian Air Force. In real life there were 2 tempest/typhoons donated to Belgium after the war for use as instructional airframes, and i thought "what if they were put into operational service"? after 2 weeks off work i managed to make the model complete with a canopy from an old P-47D model that fell on the floor a while back. anyway, here's the result  B)

for my next project im planing to make an AEW version of a jet fighter ( possible A-10C, F-35, F-14,...conversion )

Soon, ALL will be Canada and therefore, world populated by Canadians!   ;)
You'll see, it will be a better world that way...

Love what you did with the markings and paint on this subject.

Looking forward to seeing more of your What If's  (hint-hint: more pics, please!).

I have not checked: is the P-47 canopy much different from the Tempest's? How did you adapt? Much putty? And filling a hole if shorter?
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

the canopy off the P-47 is not much different, although it wat a little longer then the original tempest canopy, i just had to make it a bit shorter and lower. but basicly its the same, just needed a little cutwork  B)

Wellcome Nils - Ostend, home of Mussels and chips

Like the Tempest looks good in those markings, and very plausable as well.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

thats 220 models build, but mostly i like to make 1/144 scale models (off witch i have 68) i also have other "what if" models but they didnt turn out the way i wanted, exsample:

- F-23A "Netherlands Air Force"
- SU-47 "Finnish Air Force"
- Vampire FB-15 "Belgian Air Force"
-etc...

i also have a number of models that have not been painted yet, i got an F-86 sabre that im planing to give Mexican markings  B) .
