New nose.  Resin copy of A-4C sanded WAY down to fit.  Matched panel (radome) lines but didn't like the look-too nose up.  A small sliver of card and now I got the look I want.

Scooterman

Sort of head on.  Camera angle makes it look way out of square........and it is!  But not as bad as pic suggests-I'm not going to mess with it.  You know the old saying 'close enough for government work'!

Last one for now.  Notice I forgot to add the intakes on the FA.6 before I joined the wing.  Not looking forward to the cleanup of the bottom of the intakes.........

Radish

Looking good.
I shall be impressed.
My RN Skyhawk will be based on the Hobbycraft 1/48th A-4N, 899 Sqn, in all over Medium Sea Grey, nicely (ie VERY) weathered like a USMC A-4. :P
Once you've visited the land of the Loonies, a return is never far away.....

Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

neat stuff !!!  Should be cool looking...I kind of like the nose a bit off, gives it some character, and you can always tell a JMN that it was to correct for spin and roll.

Those are fantastic cockpit shots.

Also noticed you have an OTT-Lite™ ---- how's that working out for you?
Do you have any other lighting there or is the one OTT-Lite™ sufficient?

Been thinking about getting one or two but they're so expensive...  <_<

Oh, and I'd say it's officially time for you to change your signature line as it clearly no longer applies to you!   ;)
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Thanks for the comments guys.  Now for answers-

Damian2-not so little cockpit.  This is 1/48 so it's easy (I normally build 1/72).  Stock ins. panel with a few PE CRTs added and paint.  Nothing fancy honestly!

John Howling Mouse-I LOVE mt Ott-lites.  I have two.  The one you see in the pics and a swing arm lamp just out of frame on the right that has a Ott-bulb in it.  Best lighting IMHO next to the sun.  Yeah they're a tad spendy but my wife can get them thru her work and use her discount.  Oh there is also a window to the left that lets in a lot of general lighting.

And I'm not going to change my signature just yet.  I STILL have a ton of plastic yet to do!    :P

More pics later tonight when I get home.

poo-poo (with an english accent)!

Does this pic need any explanation other than me being a dumbass?  Got caught up in the moment of doing the nose and forgot to weight it down.  And I have yet to install the brass tube tailpipe!

OK a hour later she sits down.  Lots of lead foil dropped behind the instrument panel and a few BBs behind the cockpit installed in the area that would have been blocked off if I installed the intakes earlier.  Maybe the modeling gods were looking after me...........

More work on the FG.1 and a bit of clean up on the FA.6

Notice the FG.1 has its intakes BEFORE I install the wing.  Oh and before anybody asks, I have half a metric ton of lead shot in its nose.  This baby will have NO problem sitting on its gear correctly.  Unless the rather frail nose gear gives way.........
