If you love, love without reservation; If you fight, fight without fear - THAT is the way of the warrior

If you go into battle knowing you will die, then you will live. If you go into battle hoping to live, then you will die

No pictures today.  Not much to show anyway-just cleaned seams and got the wing on the FG.1.  Another update tomorrow-should have the FA.6 close to primer/paint.

Nice Job Brad, wonderfull work in the cockpitsection.

QuoteDoes this pic need any explanation other than me being a dumbass?
Great, now I'm not the only dumbass around here annymore
Had the same thing happen on a Mirage III once. But no way to add lead to the nose annymore since it was already closed and painted. So I added lots of weight to the droptanks. Used some superglue to add them to the aircraft later on and now I'm hoping they won't "drop"

The engines spit out fire, I'm pushed back in my chair
The pressure gives me thrills as we climb in the air

Sorry for no pics recently.  Been a bit under the weather.  Updates tonight!

Hope you're feeling better, guy.
Now, I'm also the new guy around here and this build is what made me finally sign on.  I'm working on several RN Scooters and have a question ... what are you guys hanging on the early ones?  I'm not familiar with 50's and early 60's British ordnance so all I've really considered are Bullpups, AIM-9B, or maybe a refuelling store and 2 tanks.  Any other ideas out there?

regards,
Gary

Bullpups And Winders were carried by Scimitars so obvious choice for scooters, as well as British Bombs or rocket pods. The exotic missiles like Green cheese would have been a tad heavy for the A-4.

In the late 60's we started to get AS-30's and then the larger AS-37 Martel for a 70's fit. The martel would probably have to fit on the belly pylon due to its size 7 weight.

Cheers

Do that a coupla more times and you swear never to forget and you ALWAYS weight the nose, even when it doesn't need it like i did with my Sea Fury :dum:

Kewl Scooters, I love that little husky fuzzy bunny.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Well more work of filling and sanding so really nothing to take pics of again.  Should have something meaningful to shoot after tonights session.  Or at least that's my plan!

Welcome aboard Gary!  Enjoy the company!  (do I need to give my normal warning speech guys?  :P  )

And as for weapons, the early bird will have TERs on the wings (single wing pylons-remember early Scooters only had one under each wing and the centerline) with a 'slant two' of SNEB rockets and a centerline bag.  The FA.6 will be air to air with Slammers and Sidewinders and another centerline bag.

Gary F

Thanks for the welcome, Scooterman.  I've been hanging around a while and have seen others get the 'speech', but you guys do some nice stuff around here!
Looking forward to more of your current project ...

regards
Gary

Getting back into modeling

Scooterman

Hi guys.  Been out of town the last week with friends from the UK (anybody know Phil Cater?).  Going to a show on Saturday then off to Seattle for a week.  But for the show........doing a SAAF Victor.  Started on Tuesday night.  Filler, cleanup and hopefully some piant tonight with tomorrow final paint and maybe decals.  Will have pics after the show.  Too busy now to post them!  Same for the Scooters.  More later!
