hey guys wanted to post some pics of my current build: it's starfighter with wings and tail from f-86 don't have much of a back story yet.  i plan on loading it out four aim-4 missels, no gun seeing as how its from the we don't need stinking guns era. oh incase your wonderin how  i came up the f-95 by averaging 86 and 104.  sorry for the crappy pics they'r from my sprint phone (only digital camara i have) any idea are welcome

If I may be so bold, could you move the wings forward just a hair? Like a 1/4 inch or so? I think it would look better, but that's just my opinion. Also, you gonna put the wings and t-tail on the Sabre fuselage? That would look killer.

That reminds me of something ? Can't figure what but something like a scaled up Gruman Tiger ? Looking good.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

With such a tail and wings, it reminds me a little bit a... U-2 !!

Great idea!! Maybe a longe range escort fighter??

It reminds me of something Hawker, P1125 maybe? I'm starting to get an idea here, I need a few cheap F-104's and Hunters I reckon  .

Which fits in with the F.95 nomenculature as the others around that No were "penetration" fighters F.93 etc, and now I remember what it reminds me of - a Lockheed XF-90

Reminds me of the Grumman Cougar.  Very nice looking.

I think it would be cool to use the increased wing area to cerry some serious mud-moving ordnance.

As for F-104s and Hunters, thats exactly what I bought Sunday.  An Italieri F-104A and a Revell Hunter F.6.  My intent was to cut some plastic, but the Hunter is such a sweeeeet little kit I cant bring myself to.  The whifery on these two will be limited to paint/decals/warload I'm afraid.

Anyway, not to get off subject, nice looking project.  I like the F-95 a lot Casey!  Are you planning on retaining the F-86 gear in the wings or F-104 gear in the fuselage?
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Sans guns is probrably easier but I think you could still get away with four 20mm cannons arranged around the nose.

Maybe some stacked 5" rockets (2 or 3 deep) on old-style individual pylons, some M117-type bombs and wingtip fuel tanks would be nice.

Looks great so far!  B)

Interesting idea, and it makes sense too. With the Starfighter having way too short a range (because it has no room for fuel in the wing) to do anything useful, Lockheed needed another wing design at short notice, to still be eligible in several procurement processes then going on. Not having time to create a design from scratch, they went to North American with an offer they couldn't refuse.

Gary

Build it and they will come....

or at least get aroused

Looks excellent. Build it... common on, build it! I dare ya. I double dog dare ya!
Getting back into modeling

i thought about this but wings just kinda fell in place so i thinks i beter leave casuse thats where the planes wants them.  as for the saber well i didn't to much about that idea or i wouldn't have cut it to peices as bad as i did

its gonna have the f-104 gear i just dont think the saber gear would work.

Cool design Casey.
And, this is weird, I've just started my first kitbash in joining a F104 with some Mirage III wings. It's going to be a prototype build by Lockheed and develloped out of the F 104. So, thank you Hobbes, you've given me the right start to the story.

I can just about hear the sighs of disappointment :D

Seriously though, I think the old air defence grey scheme like an F-101 or F-106 would look really good on that model.
