The Coast Guard/SAR build

Like the title says, a Coast Guard/SAR build as suggested by others.  I'd say all Coast Guards could be included, as well as dedicated military SAR units.  I found some pics of Greece's blue and white Coastie scheme that I'm partial to, but there's also Canada's hangover headache inducing yellow scheme (gonna do either an HH-65 or NH90 up in that scheme), as well as numerous other coast guard's around the world.

I know there's at least one or two threads in the General Discussions forum about this.  Perhaps the mods would consider moving those threads, along with that "potential group builds" thread from earlier this summer to this forum?

Definately expand it to SAR if we do this one in the future.

Yep. Got a RoG Learjet 35A that'll be in Canadian allover red with white stripe and pylons with SKAD packs, possibly a nose search radar and FLIR turret...

For the search radar, consider modifying the front of one of the tip tanks.  For the FLIR turret, look at locating it aft of the main door or on a fairing opposite the main door (consider the faired drop hatch on Finnish Learjets)

I'm now convinced that one of the members of this board also writes for CASR DND 101; much of the time we propose a new topic or group build it shows up there. Witness:

I like the SAR Herc, and now I have to look for a Hobbycraft Dash-8 to do up...

I'm in on this one and have one each for SAR and Coastie!

Can we please, please, PLEASE do this build???

Absolutly nothing beats Canada's yellow and red SAR scheme...

Best paint scheme ever!

Too right, Ollie ! The CDN SAR birds rule !

Would look funny on a Herc on Chinook, tho, I think. Maybe on a Sea King.

The CCG uses the Dash 8, or used it. The one that always used to fly locally is now in the hands of Transport canada, I think.

A Merlin would be a nice CCG bird.

CCG still have their Dash 8, my buddy saw it fly in N-B.  She looks gorgeous.

And that scheme looks best on twin-engined birds...

Ok, I'm thinking of a tougher UK Coast Guard, armed and dangerous to protect or shore line and fishing grounds. A few French and Spanish 'super trawlers'  sunk by CG gunboats or frigates will give the thieving gits second thoughts.
An air element of helicopter gunships for patrol and maritime law enforcement.  along with a couple of squadrons of SHAR 1's and 2's for the same thing. Along witht the usual SAR capabilities.

Lance - dear old thing.........

Speaking with all the authority I can muster, I can say only this:

If/when you meet me and any of my colleages, you will realise with absolute, crystalline clarity that the VERY last people in this country that should be given any sort of weapon, be it a BB gun or an XF-35 are the members (perhaps that should read 'inmates') of Her Majesties Coastguard.

Trust me, please, I really know this stuff - when we do meet-up, ask me to tell you the sordid tale of the Liverpool Coastguard 'Shoot's' - an annual event during the closing years of the last centuary -  that used to take place in the grounds of a small Flintshire pub....... until the station received a letter from a resident pleading with us not come back again........ ever

Amen, Brother Lance !

Always thought that would be a good way to send a message. Of course, you'd have to fire a few warning shots and give them plenty of time to abandon ship.....
