Well, since I missed the weekend build, and ever since seeing this baby in an old Airfix catalog a few years back.........

Bought it at 10 to 3 this aft, just before model shop Dave closed his doors......and here it is, mostly done ! It's 1am my time, so that makes her a 10 hour build.

She's the trainer variant of the RN type. Mods incl. new nose ( looks alot like a Challenger, eh ? ) longer stroke single wheel main undercart, bumper wheel and of course the hook ! Oh, and folding wings.

Here's the underside, showing the bumper wheel used for take-offs to get the right attitude. Yes, I know it's not finished yet...but hey, it's only been ten hours !

:P

That's not-finished?  What's left to do?

And there she goes !

That's my bro tossing the ceremonial box into the fire. Quite a nice kit, actually ! For how old it is, it really went together well, with not much flash.

To understand, I checked Google in vain, then Hannants successfully: there was a mistyping in Domine ('Dominate' in French!) for Dominie...
Are the what-if features: arrester hook + folding wings + Navy colours? (please explain for the non-experts...) :)

I can not begin to understand why you have provided us an image with an obviously Non-Canadian mildly alcolholic beverage being displayed next to your current project.  This is very much out of character for you sir.  I honestly did not expect to see a beverage container with the "COORS LIGHT" brand name any where near you, let alone next to your model.  Oh the humanity!  Are you going soft on us?  Inquiring minds want to know...

Nice build by the way,

Those wimpy little girly beers are just that.........the lovely wife and her pal's ! Mine is hidden under that sleeve that sez "MOLSON, WHAT BEER'S ALL ABOUT' keeping nice and chilly ! It's a good old fashioned Canadian.............

Sorry for the mistyping, Tophe ! It is indeed a Dominie ! And yes, the naval gear makes her a what-if. It was going to be CDN, but I couldn't find the markings in all the boxed up stuff, so I went RN !

Cool Toad!

But you can do a better job on the wheels, come on!

Hobbes

Nice job. All that in just 10 hours is amazing. And a fun idea, too.

anthonyp

Too cool!  I almost picked up that kit yesterday and had something similar in mind, dual front wheels, tailhook, and all.  Dang, I guess I will have to go get one of those.

Good job!!

Bad beer in the pics, though.

So, when you make it over here, we can expect an entire, finished Concorde out of the deal?????  I'll take in progress pics.  Only thing is, I'm on call for the next two weeks so I won't be able to stay up til 1:00 a.m.!!!   :P

Your 10-hour build is phenomenal.

But I agree with Monsieur Fontaine as the Coors (what Albertans call "Coor-Aid" and let our toddlers drink as if it was Kool-Aid) really did throw me off.

Completely disoriented now...
