So back on the Spit gonna try preshading the panels, not with a sharpie though learned my lesson there.
So what we have is primer and a coupla mist coats of flat white all sanded up to 2000 grit inbetween. Gonna have to mix my own pink out of various Gunze sangyo colours, and I'm gonna airbrush the panel lines first now that I've got a nice airbrush that will do detail stuff.
Question is what colour  do you think I should do the panel lines ? I was thinking either a dull red or an earth tone obviously I want something subtle under a light pink. Suggestions?
Getting dark here now so I won't be painting again till tomorrow afternoon.

Back on the B-24 and in keeping with another thread major change in direction.
Just couldn't be arsed to try and make a decent job of the wretched vintage Revell moulding, noticed the Academy B-24D in a local craft shop while I was with the girls so I went back to get it. While there I saw the Airfix Toyota RAV4 which is the car I just bought my sixteen year old so I picked that up aswell. Well i cant make a copy of "Lulu" her car 'cos the kit is a two door and hers is a 4 door so it's just gonna be Hot Pink instead. Should be summat different making a car.

Right well I've answered my own question, after final sanding I cleaned out the panel lines and they are easily dark enough without the light grey and white paints in them, so I'll just preshad with a darker tone of the overall pink.

In answer to Sin un nombre's question about the PRU schemes I might aswell post these here. Photo's I took from books (don't have a scanner) It's what I'm using as a reference for this project and all i could find on pink Spits

The Rat

Quote...I opened one of those new 2lb plastic cans of folgers coffee, and instead of needing a tin opener it's sealed with some nice heavy foil. Like a good pack rat modeler I thought " that'll come in useful".
And yes great for making seat belts and buckles and one can yields a piece of foil the size of a plate. Behold........
Man, I'm glad I reviewed this post from the beginning, I just retrieved my Folger's foil from the garbage!

Thanks Ripley!

Right my first attempt at pre-shading, yeah I know it's a bit sloppy, the Pink I concocted is a mix of Gunze Sangyo Pink (very bright), radome Tan, RLM BraunViolet, and off white. It looks alot brighter and alot redder in this pic than it actually came out in truth it came out a sort of Lilac colour.

K thinned down the colour with more off white and alcohol and voila a PINK PLANE!
real pleased with the shading it may be a bit too subtle though it doesn't seem that way in the pic but experience has taught me after a sludge wash and dullcote alot of detail and contrast blends into invisibility.
Gonna use a light brown/ reddish pastel wash I'm trying to learn subtlety. Only three in the afternoon here so I may get this decalled and almost finished before "Rome" starts at nine o'clock. Been a good weekend, built something, featured on ARC, and got some free stuff. Wish I'd been at Telford though.

Ok now I can reveal what I did with the fuselage side camera. First I drilled a hole in the side of the fuselage and then built a little box inside.

I closed the box up drilled a hole in the back of it, then put a piece of clear sprue through that hole as some sort of lens?

Then covered the exterior hole with a disc of clear plastic punched from one of those collar stiffeners you get in side new shirts. Quite pleased with the effect

The lower cameras are just holes drilled out and covered with more home made plastic discs.
