The Wooksta!

This one has to be in here and I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it before.  Okay, I know I've got a head start on everyone, unless it's just limited to the Airfix kit.

What say we start this about March?  Gives most people time to clear the decks of other projects and more importantly source their kits, especially for all you lot overseas.

Well I said I'd support you on this idea a coupla months back, and the timing is perfect so I'm most definately in.
Assuming I can get a kit, I've ordered one from Hannants but there seems to be no way of checking on the status.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Wooksta, sounds like a great idea basing it on the Airfix kit so I am in. Leigh, as I said in another thread, as long as you got an order confirmation e-mail from Hannants when you initially ordered the kit, then according to them all pre-orders will get all the kits they ordered.

If you are still unsure, then just reply to the order confirmation e-mail and ask. I have done that before successfully to query order state or tell them about damage or a missing decal sheet.

Cheers

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I am most assuredly in!  B)

Regarding the Airfix kit only rule, how about modyfying it to "Airfix kit only for UK modelers, colonial types and ROW can use ANY TSR2 kit".  Reason being that the RoW may never even see the Airfix kit, but can use the dynavector kit, or source a resin one (legit or pirate) from yourself.

As it stands at the moment, I'm in. I've a couple of schemes I want to build, depending if I can actually get my hands on the airfix kit that is!! No, I have no way of pre ordering the damm thing!!

I don't think you need to limit it to the Airfix kit. Just specify that all entries must be built between the start and end date (so no entering kits you've built before April 1, 2006), and that should take care of leveling the playing field. If you want to enter a DIY resin version, I'd add that you can use parts cast before April 1.

Spellbinder99

I think that is a fair way to go as well, but I have a fair amount of faith that given the huge demand seen for the kit, Airfix will do more than 10,000.

Hannants just confirmed my order will be supplied in full, so I am definitely in.

I'm in mate, if I can get a kit. They still haven't gotten the Concorde, the 48th Gripen and so on. I ordered the Notdatlas for the twin boom build 7 months ago and still don't have it.

sounds good to me, but the ******* book about the TSR2 still won't be out by then though...     ;)
