sounds good to me, I'm in

I'm in. Gotta figure out what to build and buy some kits. Yea, I think I'm the only member who doesn't have an Airfix kit in my stash.

I'm with you Jon! I've got one Airfix but it's the 1/72 Short Stirling. I could build it but I don't think there's room for it in my tiny cottage! Oh, wait...I have the Arado 196 floatplane that I'm bashing into a Curtiss Shrike. Maybe I could just hold off on that for a while...hmmm...

Count me in!

P.S. Speaking of prizes needed for this GB, I could donate my Stirling kit. It's 95% complete (sorry I needed the Mk. III turret for another kitbash) and has all the parts necessary to build the Mk. I. Not sure how the box will hold up in shipping though.

Hmmm, I have an HMS Belfast that has been just screaming "Turn me into something you git!" for months now, seems a shame not to oblige...

I'm in.

EDIT: Urm...make that HMS Ajax.  Hopefully she'll forgive me once I finish turning her into a state of the art air defense destroyer in 1/700.  ;)

QuoteWhat about one with Roland Beamont's markings instead?  Because "Bee" did more in his career than Closterman and he didn't kiss Argie ringpiece either!
Well, let me know where I can find decals for Bee's mount and I might consider it. Can you also direct me to any any authoritative information on Closterman's Argentine connection? I recall seeing something once (can't find it now), but it seemed rather innocuous to me, maybe there's more to it than I read.

Good point, every second Tempest model I've seen is also 'Le Grande Charles' (which is rather galling to us Canadians who recall DeGaulle's "Vive le Quebec libre!" exhortation in '67).

I'll see what I can do, there are sheets of code letters available so there's one option, but the Frog Tempest also comes with someone else's, maybe I'll go that route.

And since turnabout is fair play  ^_^ :

DON'T CALL HIM THAT! He and his entire squadron hated that propaganda-born moniker.

Well one of the Fujimi Spit's comes with Ginger Lacy's markings and as for Cunnigham there was a pub up my way named after him - right rough hole - now demolished.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

B) I'm in!  I have a buttload of bagged airfix kits around just begging to be built ^_^   I'll start think about this one

Hmmmm  interesting ...yep count me in Lee.

I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Okay - just had to ressurect this thread and see if its still happening? If so then I'll scroung up a kit and I'm in! Yay, my first GB!

SinUnNombre

Yea. I'd like to see this one get up and running, too. I really like the idea of having it start and end in correlation with the Secret Santa and TSR.2 GB's. Plus it would give me a good excuse to get going on that Airfix 1/72 Hunter FGA9(Irish Air Corps).

RIGHT! If this GB is happening I'm in! I'm getting a Chipmunk to do as a Vietnam War FAC, so count me in!

Blackburn Beverly gunship?!  :dum:

And to think that some people thought the AC-130 was ugly enough!

Imagine a Belfast! Or Bristol Superfreighter!

Yep, had both of them on my short list. BUT...

For the Bristol I was thinking super-outlandish - a basis for a heavy lift autogyro!  :dum:
