Something haunting and scary about that scheme on this particular bird, Eddie.
It's like you've had a subconscious glimpse into the actual future somehow.

Chilling. I like it! To me, it's a cross between something sci fi and a sea shell.

Thanks to all for your kind words about this paint job. I think I'll go with it and move forward to try and finish soon! how hard can it be, right?

To be honest, I don't think I've seen your version yet. Do you have it around? This was gauze stretched over the bird and shot with grey and black. The method I told you about is waiting for the right subject to rear it's head.

Although I love the shape, as it makes the dull 117 looks so different, I can't say as I'm into the camo. makes it look too old and junky. I'll probably start digging it once I see the completed pics.........

I'm with you to a degree. I better come up with a good finish.    
I have some time to think about it. I'm near Bend,Tx.(close Lampasses, Tx.) for a family visit. I dare you to find it on any map.

The great gauze paint experiment has taken a turn for the unknown. I wasn't happy with my results (mesh pattern was too large) and it just so happens that I was able to find the original material I wanted to use. This stuff looks like it used to be some kind of sports wrap (the adhesive is gone). Much tighter mesh. I think this go around will be easier on the eyes. Results soon.

I hope you have a better time at it than I did. The idea is sound, but my execution is CRAP! So, plan B. What do you think?

Zac, this is a variation of the idea I told you about. It's really very easy. If it wasn't, I would be able to do it. Once again, I think y'all know how I did it You get one guess .
