Just B-17s? Sorry, not my cup of tea.

Since I've got a few progress pix, I'll put them up here until we get a GB together and then move them. The main thing I did was invert the main spar section of the fuselage to make this a high wing. I also borrowed a few pieces from a B-24( bomb bay section and other body sections for patches.) Put together the bombay, added some wings and control surfaces. From the B-24, I get a what if Privateer. :D

Is it just me, or does that look like a Badger?

Do like it, though. The Fort's fuselage always looked "faster" than the rest of the plane.

Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part...

Rally,
You read my mind. I want to see how long it took for someone to see it also. About 5 mins.

Nope, not me. It would take me atleast a year to build a B17  ^_^ . Besides, I want to do a real one and have only one in my stash B)

Eddie, That's a beatifull piece of work. What engines are you going to give it? Underwing jets like the B 52?

Here's todays work so far. My next big decision is the landing gear. I kinda want to keep it a taildragger, but with the new tail, I'm tempted to make it a tricycle.. As you can see, six engines will be the order of the day. The Lib donated two engines. B) ( My "new" Privateer is going to be jet powered). I have to go figure this gear issue. The 'Fort isn't giving up any answers easily.

Could you extend the inboard engine nacelle aft, Tu-95 Bear Style to house the gear?

That has been the one single thought that keeps coming to mind. If I do that, I'll steal the nose gear from the Liberator. I think I'll try to come up with a way to extend, or at least use parts of the original main B-17 gear. :)
