It remindes me some how of the captain Scarlet Angel, only a heavier attack version maybe. Maybe she'll take the fight to the Mysterons!

QuoteI did not even think about them being too big, nor do I care. Not to be an donkey or anything but it is my first what if and I'm not a  technical of a builder like some of you. I don't know what the last F stands for (F-4F) or what markings it should have. I did not even know what they (wings in front) were called untill you pointed it out to me. I will fill the cracks in with the green stuff. I'm sure the vertical stabilizer is incorrect also but I can live with it.
Amen Brother you preach it, welcome to our world.
I don't think anyone here will ever tell you HOW to build your model but when you bung it up on an inprogress thread you will get suggestions, but those are not judgements.
The Golden Rule here is "MY BLOODY MODEL"

Right now for my suggestions, forget the "green stuff" and take a trip to the auto parts store and get some red auto glaze and spot putty big tube will last you years and way cheaper than the hobby store stuff. Much easier to work with too dries quicker and you can get it pretty smooth almost immediately after putting it on, with a Q-tip and some nail polish remover. While you're there get some fine grit sandpapers  and some spray cans of primer and the basic colours like black, white etc and automotive Silver, Aluminum, Bumperchrome etc are great for doing natural metal right out of the can.
In fact the bulk of my modeling supplies like Exacto knives, superglue and tons of other stuff are bought at Wal-mart ,Office max or the cosmetics aisle in the supermarket for half the price.
Some guys use Milliput for gaps and swear by it but I've no experience with it.

A bit of judicious filing and shaping (fingernail emery boards) on those canards and there shouldn't be too much of a gap to fill. Another great investment for scratchbuilding is a cheap battery powered Dremel for sanding and shaping. I've got the top of the line expensive one which never comes out of it's case I use my little cordless one all the time I even stir my paint with it.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

what he said.  :D

i am just happy to see somebody that gets these damn things finished - i find it so hard to give a model more than an hour a night (on a good night) and with about a hundred ideas at a time hitting me and calling for immediate attention, it means that nothing gets completed and that i have at least fifteen models on the go at once, in different stages of completion...  :(

on the filling side of things, i have a spray can of "cold galvanize" that is great for filling hairline gaps and holes, and you can just paint right over it...it's so soft that it barely needs sanding, but is a breeze to paint over when it's dry.

heed leigh's advice - auto parts stores are the best place for the basics (and they have the best little clamps at advance auto parts).

I'm going to keep the tips in mind. I did not mean to go off it was early in the morning and I did not want to go to work. I do feel that way about it tho, just don't like that I sounded like an donkey. I know what you mean about not having time to work on them everynight. All I did tonight was get the b-17 out of the box and test fit the body. Man that thing has a lot of windows!!!

QuoteNice F-4 ^_^ , so different... and while Mirages have got extra canards for JMNs, Phantoms had not... :( Thanks! ;)
Just 2 questions: B)
- have you considered anhedral foreplanes at the same angle as the Phantom's tailplanes :D ? I think that is not as nice but I am not sure
- won't there be a hard work to make a clean juntion between fuselage and foreplanes  ? as they are glued on a conical part, not matching at first... :(
<_<  It's my first one    LOL

Had to keep this one alive I'm still working on it and the a-10 and the b-17 and the sr-71 and the kc-95............I think thats it lol.

Big Daddy,
You know when the best time to work on models is? When you know you have more important things to do. When I 've got work to do, I find it's very easy to sit for hours and work on my many projects. Just follow what the little voices in your head say and everything will work out. ;)

I can't seem to do what the voices in my head say to do. I guess I will just have to keep trying. LOL

That's the only way to get good, is to cut and glue as much plastic as possible. Trial by flamethower, I always say! B)

Do you have any thin/narrow styrene strip stock (like "Evergreen ™" brand)?

A couple of tiny bits of that can also help take up volume b/w the misaligned parts, help you strenghten the joint (glue won't work on any putty I've ever used) and this can also give your gap-filler something solid to grip onto and what the heck am I talking about you're building in 1:144 scale so that gap Tophe pointed out must be less than a single mm wide at worst....shutting up now over here...

Hee hee

And I don't even need to DRINK to be this dumb!

It's a gift, you know.

Like being a Superhero.
