Sweet :D

One question (there's always one question) why does it have three air intakes?

Read the description's last paragraph...  ;)

'd nite F-32,

Just as Ollie said, I wrote in that paragraph that the third intake, borrowed to the F16 series, was there to prevent the engine from stopping whenever the cannards may stop the airflow inside the original dassault intakes. But it's also necessary for that engine is very air greedy, with its delivering a 15 tons thrust in full AB, explaining it needs a higher air rate to get in.

Further photos of the totally finished kit to follow !!!

That is the most stunning kitbash I've seen for a while...I never thought an F-16 could look that good.

(applause sounds)

Jebus !

Can't believe I almost missed that beauty...........wow...sweet !

Great looking camo, and the weathering is awesome ! I like the day-glo panels as well. The canards sure make her look like one manouverable MoFo.

Keep up the great work !

Vive les Canadiens !

John Howling Mouse

I did completely miss this one (how?) !!!

I thought I could control myself until I saw the top view and then the front-----oh baby, baby!!!

It cannot possibly be healthy to have the jones this bad for somebody's model kit (but I do)!

QuoteHow do you feel about that camo ?
I'm looking forward to getting your reactions here...  ;)
Belated thought: why is there a camo on this Mirage 2016, to hide in the landscape, together with high visibility orange stripes?
I see 2 possible explanations (is one all right or is there a third in your mind?):
- the background camo is the main paint, solid, to hide and escape if war ever happens; while during peace times, removable high-visibility stripes prevent from air-colliding and provide beauty in airshows...
- (as for Israeli Kfir?) the background camo was intended to hide, but friendly fire proved it was more a danger than a safety, so quick high-visibility stripes have been added to correct...
Yes? No? :)
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

If you look at Egyptian F-16s, they are painted in camo, but have bright orange ID panels - as their near neighbours and arch-enemy Israel (peace treaty notwithstanding) also use F-16s, telling who's are who's is more important than cammo.

Its like in WW2, for the US and a lesser extent the UK (especially in the far east), as the war went on, camo disappeared and prominent markings replaced them.
Between almost-true and completely-crazy, there is a rainbow of nice shades - Tophe

Sales of Airfix kits plummeted in the 1980s, and GCSEs had to be made easier as a result - James May

Hi all !

Thanks for your comments !

Tophe : I think Egyptian planes are currently sporting hi-visibility day glo markings because of the peace time running, to me that's the reason of their being.

But they'd have a real meaning by wartime too, to prevent friendly fire...

As regards the kit, only bombs remain unpainted and canopies unfixed (I'll set'em opened), and cote to be airbrushed, details, details... Coming here soon ! I promise !

Thanks 4 all !

Richard
