Your welcom Eddie.
You know what they say, those that can't build, nudge.

Can't wait to see this one done.  Did you decide on a finish for her yet?

I've finally reached a point where I'm going be some what happy with the puttying and sanding on this Beast. I think I've decided on a all black bottom and a scheme similar to the one on my Warlock, except using white, gray and black.

does anyone know if the name Grizzley was ever used for a plane? The Russians have their Bears and we have ours. ;)

Please see this through to the end, wont you? I am agog with admiration and aching to see it finished.

In answer to your question, I am only aware of the Rutan Grizzly, a sort of smacked off its tits 1980s crop sprayer from Scaled Composites.

Never fear, the hump has been crossed with this one. It's all down hill from here. If we have brakes at the end is still the big question. :P  ;)

I've got the basic gear done and have settled on a prop tip color. Movin' along, singin' a song....( the song being Harvester of Sorrow by Metallica  )

"ba-da-bam, bum-bum!"  Whistling along with ya !  Neat props, like the rainbow ends...

Eddie, the gear and props look great! What kind of maroon could say anything bad about that Phantom/Hornet Hybrid? That is a real looker!

Looking forward to seeing the "Grizzly" nearing completion :)

Oh man Eddie those props are sweet! I like your idea for camo, but I'd probably use a dark and a light green and a dark brown or gray.

My vote for a name is still the Eddie Fortress!

I can't wait to see more!

Beechcraft liked the name Grizzly for their prototype XA-38 tactical bomber, but the Air Force liked the name "Destroyer".  Unfortunately for us, it never went into production.

yep, recognized the name.
Neat plane but no reason you can't use it also.

Or maybe something like MegaFortress.

The day of reckoning is here  . Many of you might have been wondering when I was going to grow a pair and move on with this build. Today I got her all taped up  and put the first primer coat on. I say first because it will take a couple to hide what imperfections that I was too lazy to fix. ;)

Man, it's true, what they say:

"Everything IS bigger in Texas!"

This is mezmerizing.

Primer is on. If this was a Navy plane, I'd be done right now. Still trying to decide on the camo job.I kinda fancy using a black gray white combo, but a lot of y'all have suggested the SEA type. Your opinions are welcome. :)

Holy cow Mr Miller! That primer coat really brings it all together! I am totally awed! I dunno, but I can see it in Navy Blue right now. Great I just added more confusion to the pot. Anyway, this is one ingenious and amazing project!

What about something similar to this:

or something simple like this only with the black bottom you mentioned before.

Beautiful work Eddie.

I like Grizzly.  (No 'e' in the Grizzly bear).  As to color scheme, I think splinter schemes are great, but would be kind of anachronistic on this bird.

I guess we need to ask what's the mission?  I'm assuming USAF.  If it's Tactical, then SEA with a black belly would be best.  If it's strategic, then I'd go with SAC's SIOP scheme (which is one of my favorites).  The SIOP colors can give you the option of a white or black underside.  Another 'logical' alternative might be overall Boeing gray with wavy demarkation to black undersides and full size and full color SAC markings for China/Korea deterrence in the 1950s or Arc Light missions over Vietnam in 1965?  (I wouldn't ask anybody to do natural metal) :)

Check out this site for lots of other brainstorming ideas. http://www.beuliland.com/html/albumes/usapw/

Black, white, and gray would look cool (night missions over the frozen tundra?), but I'd go in a scheme in a USAF pattern rather than splinter.

Whatever you choose, I'm sure it will be a beauty.
