I had the bug to build another non-whiffed (or as some people call it "real") military vehicle, so I picked up an easy looking Tamiya 1/35 Jeep last week.

I think this will be my last non-whiff for a while as I have a project on deck that involves an NMF finish, the Tennessee Air National Guard decals from an F-104, a pair of Bullpup missiles, and a certain 1/72 scale replica of a lovely Sydney Camm design...

anyhoo...the Jeep;
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

I just got a new airbrush (a cheapo Aztek set).  It came with some acrylic paints and sinceI've been toying with the idea of switching from enamels I decided to use the acrylics on this model.  I really enjoyed using the Testor's Acryl paints, and I love the cleanup!

Cute job, I always preferred the SMP over the civvy version. Spent many a bone-jarring hour in those things!  :wacko:

Yeah me too, and when I started using Misterkit and Gunze Sangyo paints I really love the paint job and the finish i get too. Can't wait to try out Xtracrylics.

And I love that Jeep, it just just, I dunno just really really Neat. Can't articulate I just love.

I need to do some armour or a car for a change.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Looks damn nice.  And a real-world armor/truck build is a good break from airplanes spaceships and whiffery.  And those tamiya kits are almost too friendly to build.

I've been using the Testor's Acryl lately, too, spraying with my Badger 150.  I just thin them a hair with some alcohol, and they go on really nicely.

You're one talented modeler!   :)

That looks sooooo real!
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Damm, that is one nice looking jeep. It looks as though it just needs a driver to come and drive it away
