I mostly suck at Photoshop, but I can alter a line drawing with at least some small degree of success.  So this is what it might look like with the proposed changes I posited over here: http://www.whatifmodelers.com/forum//index...?showtopic=7503

And the original version:

Was the Cheyenne not originally supposed to have a free-swinging  autocannon under the cockpit? I seem to remember a film of one of the FSD prototypes having it, and the gunner's chair rotated with the cannon.

Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part...

Proditor, do you have the original image without your mod's (for a side-by-side comparison)?

Sure thing, added to my first post for easier comparison.

Thank you.  Very clever changes you've made (I'm no Cheyenne expert so this was very helpful).

I like the central balance of your version better than the original.

From what I've read it was another victim of politics rather than "real" problems.  Too bad, woulda been a fantastic bird  :(

Ayup.  The Warbird Tech Series Book on Cheyenne is a great read and talks a lot about what killed it.  (Politics, McNamara's procurement "system", changing roles, and service rivalry)  The changing roles thing leads me to believe that the Army is a little confused when they ask for helicopters.  Wasn't Commanche in pretty much the same boat when it got cancelled?

Anyway, thanks for the feedback, and for Elmayerle's kind offer to PM him in the discussion thread (Books only help so much).   :D

Can anyone else not see these pictures or is it just me?

I can't either, but they were originally posted over 10 years ago and the web site may not exist any more.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Indeed, but I save darn near everything, so the pics should be live again.

I wonder what my original idea was going to be...I mean, I see the 30mm, the combined 7.62mm minigun/grenade launcher, and moving the TADS to the middle location, I see the split Apache style engines, but I wonder if that's "all" I was doing...I should find my donor kit and see if it's still possible.

Yes, the drawings are back again now.
