The DESERT Mirage!!!!!!
Initially, I went for a two tones beige/sand and, well, I change my mind!!

This one is still a CF-199A Mirage seen in March 1991, during the last strikes against Irak !

Hope you enjoy it!! For myself, it was very funny and interresting  to draw!! ;)

Oh nice!

One comment :  the squadron crest is usually above the rudder, on the small fairing...

But that's not to diminish your artfully drawn masterpiece!

Captain Canada

Wow...that is nice ! When can we see a model of it ?

CANADA KICKS arse !!!!

Long Live the Commonwealth !!!
Vive les Canadiens !

Beautiful!  Can't tell which one I like better.

Forgive my ignorance but what is the inscription/motto atop the tailfin?
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Oh I know that...

But I was too proud of my porcupine drawing!!!

Well, I could imagine that in a time of war, when they repainted the fighter, the ground crews want to be proud of their paint-job and signed it with a big crest...
No??  :P

QuoteForgive my ignorance but what is the inscription/motto atop the tailfin?
It says "Qui s'y frotte s'y pique"... It's the squadron Motto and I think it means "Who apposes it gets hurt"...

QuoteWow...that is nice ! When can we see a model of it ?
Well... when a 1/72 model is available for less than 25€ !!

In that case, come on the cheap kits! Seriously though, I love that camo job. Once the model is created it will look terrific.

I'm not a Mirage fan, but I like it!
Man, we should have cloned twenties. Jackson wouldn't have given a poo-poo.

Hi PolluxDeltaSeven, Hi all !

Hey man it looks really good ! I wish the Armée de l'Air ordered some...

Beautiful thing !

Would've been better to see one of em in the "Chevalliers du Ciel" rather than the 2000 !!!

Good !

C ya

Thank you all!!

I admit it's very fun to draw profile, by the way!!
And I think I will continue, even if I just finished my first "tour": French, Canadian, Aussie and Saudi Mirage 4000...

I think I will soon start the "second tour"... Do you have an idea??
I think the first could be an iraqi Mirage, but I have no sure idea for the second.
A Mirage 4000 from United Arab Emirates? Qatar?
Or maybe for Peru, or Brazil??
An Idian one instead of the Su-30??

The Greece could also by one or two dozens of Mirage 4000 to deal with the F-15 that Turkey bought to replace its F-4 (hey! That's what if!!)

I aslo thought about Argentinian and Chilean Mirage 4000... Even if those two countries haven't buy the Mirage 2000 in real life...

There are very more possibilities that I thought when I started my first Mirage 4000...

Oh yesssss!!!

Well... A good screenplay and a real good director (not this bad Gérard Pirès!  :P ) also!!

Hmm, how about Mirage 4000s bought to add "something different" to the USAF and USN Agressor Squadrons?

Like the F-21?? ;)

Why not? A Mirage 4000 could be a good Agressor to train the pilotes to deal with the Su-27... But maybe the F-15 is good enough for this purpose...
I don't know, but it could be cool...

I also thought about Israël and Egypt, both to replace the old F-4...

It's still me!!

I have just a little question: do you know why Kuwait chose the F/A-18?? Does this little country want a long-range two-engine fighter for long CAP missions, or for CAS missions, or maybe to control the Persian Gulf??

The F/A-18 is between the Mirage 2000 and the Mirage 4000 (for the weigh, the payload, the range etc...) and as Kuwait had Mirage F1, I thought that in a what-if world, Kuwait could buy an other Dassault fighter...
But the little one? or the big one??

Kuwait? If they were going to buy French again, I think they'd have waited for the Rafale - or rammed enough money into the project that it would have seen production a couple of years early...

Spain would be a good customer for the Mirage 4000...
