From Telford a couple of my Typhoons

Firstly a Regia Aerenautica one inspired by Glaini's work in his Alternative History section. Based in Cyrenaica in 1946 and used for tactical recon - whence the loadout of two drop tanks and 4 60pdr rockets. Looks a bit garish but the yellow is Fiat yellow (forget the official Italian designation) from White Ensign - good paints even though they are enamel.

Kit is Accademy with Revell Hurri drop tanks and markings courtesy of Sky Decals (great value for money)

In the background you can see my RAF SEAC one with two 1,000lb bombs and my USAAF Italian campaign job armed with two M75 rocket tubes courtesy of an Italeri P47

Love it...(them?)  I like the bright yellow !

Secondly my French one (calm down Wooks  :P ) Idea is that the USAAF handed some of their's over to France who then used them in Indo-China for ground support.

Kit again the Accademy one armed with two 250lb's and four HVAR's again from that Ialeri P47, transfers this time are from a Carpena French Indo China sheet

I now have one more Tiffie to do and that will be Russian serving on the softer souther front against the Turks. Probably armed with those Il2 "rocket bombs". Not sure yet if she'll be Soviet or from the "Rodinia" AF after the fall of Stalin

And talking of Typhoons did anyone see the Typhonn IIb in the competition ? Typhoon with a Centaurus engine, great kit and a nice back story.

you've done a great job there Chris, must get round to doing my RAF Desert AF one

Sweet Tiffies there Chris! I really like that italian one! That wonderful Fiat Yellow really makes it an eye-catcher! I'm looking forward to seeing you do a Rodina Tiffy because I like unusual markings!

What's Wooksta to do with it, eh?

great tiffies chris - especially like the yellow italian number - some real impact with that one and no mistake!

That Italian one is a real show-stopper Chris! I wish I had the skill and patience to paint like that.

Dear Chris,

Let me join in the applause from OZ.

That Italian Tiffie is wonderful.

How did you paint the little marks over the yellow-with a tiny brush?

Real nice work.

Yep, yellow one's my favorite, too: outstanding in any collection!

QuoteProbably the same way I did my tigerstripe Ta 152 - spray the basic coat and then handpaint the stripes with a thin brush and thinned paint.
Nope - I don't own a air brush. It's all hand painted. White Ensign Giallo Mimimetico 1 (Fiat Yellow) - three coats of the stuff ! With Xtracrylic US Medium Green for the spinnach sqiggles (it was late and I didn't have time for the "proper" White Ensign shade to dry) No thinning and done "freestyle". I was quite pleased with it myself to be honest -unusual as I'm normally quite harsh on my self.

I now want to do a Meteor in Italian camo inspired by Glaini's work.

Great stuff.
I LOVE the Typhoon, and in my very early days built lots of Airfix ones.

Since the leap to a decent scale (1/48th), the Monogram classic....old but beautiful, is a real favourite. I buy them when I can.

Must add some to my build list which is....ENORMOUS
