Work is still in progress but I proudly present my Lufwaffe Me-262 from North Africa AD 1944. :D

More pics later this week.

Cool! The combination of gray underside and camo on top is unusual.

I'm surprised no-one's done this before...heck, if I could afford one of those new-build 262s I'd paint it like that. Man that looks good

A Blenheim and one of those Lippisch delta things...hehe I wonder what the story is there...

marek

Actually it is not Blenheim, but polish PZL P-37 Los. My version will be a night fighter with 8 m.g. (just like B-25 gunships).

Underside color is RLM 76. As soon as I finish, I will send more pictures.

And the story is: In 1944 Germans were still in North Africa. Due to the fact that all the supplies were send by sea they needed the best aircover they could afford. Me-262 seemed to be quite good but the problem was shortl range. The easiest way to add more fuel was... to use 2 seat version and instal extra fuell tank at the back seat. With "standard" tanks under a nose Me-262D was able to fly shuttle air cover missions from Sicilly to Libya and back.

My "262" will have both, extra fuel tanks at the back seat and tanks under a nose.

Sweet, looking forward to seeing the finished article. :D

marek,

Great looking Me 262, no matter what colors they wear 262s are always interesting.

HOLY FRACKING WOW!!!! That is awsome Marek. Your idea for an extended range 262 is also brilliant. You have done a fantastic job there sir. Bloody well done.
