Can we see more of the grey F-105? ^_^

Here ya go. This was my first try at scratchbuilding( adding the bomb bay and nuke) and using the "soft mask" I think it looks a whole lot better than the first time I built it 25 years ago. :) I guess you could say this was my W.I. prototype before I knew there was such a thing. :P

QuoteTodd that is cleaned up. And I too would like to see the Gannet finished seeing as it was started as an entry for Latin-o-rama. <_<

Zac yes it's an Airfix Firefly, no you can't have it, and no I'm not posting pictures of my stash that's only about 25% of it, the rest is under the bench and taking up a whole kitchen cabinet.

Eddie great minds think alike, my first ever WIF and attempt at kitbashing?scratchbuilding was a twin tail F-16 with a hump too.
Leigh, are you familiar with the concept of the "inferiority complex"?

Because that's what you're giving me when you post pics of that damn F-16 you claim as your first attempt at whiffing!!!

That is THE BEST thing I think I've seen on here.

(No offence to anyone elses incredible work, it's just the combo of the airframe and the paint job makes that thing unbelievable)
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Well, here's a link to mine.  The only thing that has changed is the apartment it is located in, as after the move I just set it back up the same darn way.  Creature of habit, that's me.  Oh, and now there's a bay window where the poster is in the pic.  I'll update those pictures at some point.

Great job on that bomb bay and nuke Eddie! That is one great Thud! And proditor, that is one very cool workspace!

In that case, may I suggest a 4 x 8 ply tabletop instead of that 3 x 6 ?

;)

And I can't really judge, as I have no place to model...I just take the stuff out of the styrene cave and then put it all back when I'm done...kinda forcing me to clean as I go. But it really sucks doing it this way.

Hang on....all this talk reminds me of MY first whif...yet another TWIN TAIL F16! With FSW, no less! Pics soonish.

I just want to say that, with damn time zones etc, while you guys are getting ready to go for the night, here in NZ it's 9:16.

AM!!!!

AAARGH! I have to miss out on all the fun.  Anyhoo, whif F16 soon.

Thanks for the compliment. I second the motion on your work space Proditor. You must have about 5 or 6 good size battle groups there. Have you ever thought of doing a dio of a big Navy base or a BG at sea? I think that would kick donkey! B)

Here's how our front room looks.  Yes, the pizza guy thinks we're nuts, too.
But, this is a room where Ms. Hitler and I can do our crafts/hobbies side-by-side.
I'm getting to the point where I don't even feel like working at the bench if she's not around...

This pic was taken last winter and the view would be pretty much the same as now, from the sucky weather right down to the same models being worked on...sigh...

Yes, I can never get enough lighting, it would seem.  And, yes, the neighborhood lights do dim whenever I turn on all my modeling lamps.

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Ok Baz now show us the real bench, not the sterile one from the Ikea catalogue. No way I believe the master kit basher of twelve simultaneous incredible projects works without any semblance of clutter.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Leigh's Models

BlackOps

Cool! I like seeing everyone's work space, unfortunately I can't share mine because I'm in the same boat as Captain Canada...get it out clean it up and put it back...I have to say though I'm amazed she lets me build my models at the kitchen table let alone eat there ;)

I do have a room that is designated the "future hobby room" but it looks like a warehouse full of "Stuff"  I can't figure out where it all came from or why we have it but it sure is taking a long time to go through it and find it all a new place to rest.

Hoping by this time next year I will be able to share my room too.  Actually it will be "OUR" room, the wife gets 1/2 for her hobbies too but I'm kinda like Barry, I am so used to the woman being next to me It doesn't feel right when she's not there. Our home office space has his and her computers so we don't kill each other and I've grown accustomed to her being around ;)  Speaking of Barry, Holy Moly Man!  Why don't ya just put some stadium lights in so you only have to hit one switch! Oh and I noticed both the heater vents are under YOUR desk ;)

Eddie, I am so completely overwhelmed by the amount of coolness in your room! I can't believe all of those great builds came from that one desk area, I would have expected a huge assembly line and paintshop to keep up with your creative genious! Also nice to see another Kiss fan :)

I'm gonna take this to the other side of the spectrum (and possibly the wrong side of the tracks). Here's a pic of my workbench. Workbench would be a generous term...I use a box upended on a stool and I put my little box of paints, brushes, glue etc. on the coffee table. My computer (with cordless keyboard and mouse) is just a bit to the lower right out of this shot. Please don't laugh too hard, I'm  just a po' boy with dat whif modelling jones.

P.S. You can see I'm already working on my Secret Santa build and in the distance you can see my 1/144 Curtiss H-16 on its homemade wire coathanger stand. In the foreground is the ever present can of Royal Crown Cola. Yum!

I agree, that bench is waaaaaaaaay to tidy...

I do have some stuff sort of poking around in the back of my head.  Right now, I have enough trouble finding space to work (Since that pic, a friend of mine had to relocate and needed a place to crash, and well, he's a good friend, so I lost my modelling area for a little while).  Plus, I'm sort of afraid of trying to make water.  I know I'm probably being silly, but the idea of making a nice dio base is intimidating.

I have, of course, planned most of them however.  ;)

JHM's space seemed exactly like what I thought it would be.  Serious, no messing around, hardcore, professional-level modelling.  And allow me some brief jealousy over the lights setup, I usually keep thinking "If I just had one more outlet and another light...."  :)

I'm pretty stunned over some of the spaces that turn out the amazing kits you all post on here!  I must be more spoiled than I realize when it comes to workspace.  Hmmm....may have to fall back on the "I'm a big guy, I need a lot of space" argument...
