I've finally finished my 1/144 Curtiss H-16 flying boat. I used an old 1/72 scale pontoon for the base of the fuselage and the wings are cut from leftovers from the Glencoe Curtiss Condor. The windscreen is blisterpack material and the teeny guns and rings/coaming are scratched from spares as are the engines. The decals are from Blue Rider and the tail stripes are hand painted. Rigging is as always, courtesy of my sewing box. The wingtip floats were scratched and the struts were cut from toothpics. Props are from 1/144 spares. The length of this bird is 4 inches and the wingspan is 6 inches. Please pardon me while I figure out this nifty new camera, but I think these pics are enough to give you an idea. If anyone has tips on how to shoot still pics with a JVC GR-DVM90, I'm all ears.

Hmmm, are you sure you 2 aren't related?

I presume we're not - but GREAT MINDS do think alike.

Just glad someone else likes the pre-jet & pre-WWII era as well
