Here's my scratchbuilt 1/144 Boeing B-9X in all her glory. I tried to imagine Boeing improving the B-9 to compete with the Martin B-10 by installing enclosed bombardier/nosegunner positions and enclosed cockpits for the pilot and rear gunner. The wings and horisontal stabs are from the 1/144 Minicraft P-38 and the vertical stab. is from the 1/144 Minicraft B-25. The engines (that you can't see) are leftovers from the 1/144 Minicraft B-29 and the cowlings and fuse were cut from an old pen. The nosegun glazing is from blisterpack material (never throw anything away!) and the canopies and bombardier's glazing are from the 1/144 Minicraft Tojo and JU-88 kits respectively. The tail stripes were hand painted and the decals are from Blue Rider.

P.S. Flying escort you can see my bash of a P-36 from the 1/144 Minicraft Tony kit and my bash of a P-26 from the 1/144 Minicraft Tojo kit.

Here's the other shot of my Boeing B-9X. Honestly Tophe, the tail stripes and star and meatball insignia are the proper red-white-blue...my new camera seems to be color blind! Enjoy.

More pre-WWII stuff? Brian, you're a breathe of fresh air!

Agreed, that pre-war stuff is always so slick looking.  There is something still soooo cool about the P-35, the B-10 and the B-17 in it's thin tail version.

Excellent work Brian, I'm amazed at the conversions!

Some folks might think I've seen the 1937 classic "Of Things to Come" one too many times! Now there's something to inspire some whiffery! Wings Over the World! Seriously, I'm glad you folks here appreciate my time-machine whifs. Your kind words inspire me to work on yet more projects.

That's some pretty cool stuff there.  I've been trying to come up with some inspiration for some non-post-1950 stuff for a while.  You give me ideas.  And my wallet hates you for it.

Oops sorry about that anthonyp! Actually I consider my builds to be very frugal. I think the P-38 kit cost me about $4, the B-25 kit about $6 and I had lots of leftover parts for other projects. Every golden-age fan already has the decals. The old pen was probably free...the "generous" contribution of one of my former employers!
