IADF Buccaneer

Here's an Airfix 1/72 Buccaneer done up in the markings for the Israeli Air Defense Force.  After doing the KA-8 Buccaneer Tanker for the USN, I came to the conclusion I like the Buccaneer more than the A-6 Intruder.  I got some resin AGM-142 Popeyes from Hannets for an Israeli project that didn't pan out quite the way I wanted, so they ended up on this plane (they were going to go on a Hornet, but the missile's wings didn't get enough clearance when drop tanks were mounted on the inner pylons).

I figure Buccaneers would have been supplied to Israel to replace their aging A-2 Savages.  This Buccaneer is pictured late in its service, ready for a strike mission, carrying two AGM-142's, an ALQ-119, and the data link pod for the Popeyes.  The planes were replaced in service by F-15I's.
