Ok, so I watched Captain Blood again yesterday, and figured the best way to stave off the blues from painting that damn hind was to build a quick ship...into the stash I dove, and viola!
Did think that after staining the decks prior to action, I'd better get advice from a piratical expert:

Wow that's nice work cthulhu77! And you couldn't ask for more of an expert eye! This makes me think about Norwegian parrots pining for the fjords for some reason...

Wow...!

There I was thinking you were doing a great job on that Hind, but that thing is even better!!! So realistic!!  How do you do feathers like that??

:D
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Work at a zoo !!!  The only problem is that you have to put up with twenty odd years of "hi gus, hi gus, hi gus, hi gus" etc.

;) PointlessScale Productions has a set of 1/1 scale photoetch feathers. So far only for parrots, but theyve announced that we can expect parakeets by february.

Once again I must stand and gape in awe at your ability to pull off that wooden deck planking----outstanding!!

And yes, inquiring minds want details on how you did that fantastic wooden planking.

Ships aren't my thing, but I know some damn fine modelling when I see it, and thats damn fine modelling!

Are you going to have a Radish-esque crew?  Lots of scurvy dogs and comely wenches?

Ohhh hooo...I like that turn of thought...hmmm....

Radish actually got hold of some pirate figures featuring Survy Dogs and Comely Wenches - I think JHM sourced them.

I would say do a site search for "comely wenches" but you'd get about 78 threads full of people who be talking like pirates,

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nev, Radish, John :  let me know where those came from !

Brian: they have a bunch here at ASU, or you can go the sure fire route, and just head down 45th street...
