I've put together a new hybrid  . It's Jaguar with Hornet wings reversed and the Jag elevons as winglets.I used the Jag's wings as vertical stabs and the Hornet elevons as canards. This one will fit nicely with my other little monsters. B) I did laminate the wings on the U-16 FalconGaze and fattened up the fuselage plug with some corrigated styrene. I keep these on the sidelines to work on when the bigger stuff I'm working on get to be mentally draining. That and I've got clear coats drying on the UAV and Mirage/Hornet. Anyways, I've got a few other 144s and if you've got any, put'em up so we can all see them. B)

Great idea Ed...BTW a couple of those in the last pic look familiar. I built both F14s, the F20 and the 16XL.

This was originally an attempt to represent the DreamStar of Dale Brown fame. I just loved FSW at the time...still have a thing for canards....Tomcat tails, wings reversed, tailplanes used as canards. This is from the same stable as most of Ed's models seen above.

Another Dale Brown kit - the EB-52. Minicraft's 1/450ish "Sky Giants" B-52 with the horizontal stabs as butterfly tails.

And finally the USN McDonnell-Douglas/Dassault-Breguet C-150 Atlantic. Heller 1/200(?) kit with F-14 decals. Just for fun!

I'm looking forward to seeing plenty of others...nudge nudge Brian...

Some fine stuff there Eddie, I wish I could work with plastic sheet like that, I'm restricted to using whatever comes in the box and just perverting it!  ^_^

Yep, that's the scale, got one in the stash. I bought it just to cannibalise the MAD boom for my Transall flying boat, it might get turned into a waterbomber now.

You'll do that with the existing one, or make a new one?

 Okay, never mind, um, viva Securite Civile!

Where do I begin Mr. Hunt?  :P

At the beginning: No. 1 on the runway is a EB-1A Excaliber from Dale Browns Flight of the Old Dog

Followed by a EB-1B 'Narsil' Kavaznya raider from the same book

Then a couple from the good ol' days of BoR
Excaliber B.1

And a pair of Vampire BR.1's

Then a few Backfire's, 1st is the Tu-22MKI of the Indian Navy.
And theTu-22M2I of the IRIAF

Next is the R/F-111G of the RAAF

and finally the X-15A3 Stack.

Sorry I have to give y'all links, but the board wont let me post pics from my MSN webpage

Stylish stuff Shas....looks like I need to start reading Dale Brown again for more inspiration.

COME ON OLD DOG!!!

btw, a little O/T, when do you (ie anyone) think a Dale Brown book will be transferred to the silver screen?

I figure by the time people get tired of see another Land before Time repop (17 and counting so far IIRC)

Well, for 1/144 hybrids, I think I only have a few:

The Vigtom (Viggen/Phantom):
The F-112 (Tomcat/Tornado):
The Phantgen (Phantom/Viggen):
The Strike 23 (F-23/Strike Flanker):

Edit: Forgot this little freak of nature:

Mig-39 Air Superiority Interceptor (Mig-29/F-117):

And I really ought to just suck it up, buy the Israeli roundels, and finish the Phantgen already...

    :o  Those are too cool! That F-112 looks amazing! I want one! I mean, dude I'm in love with your plane! ANy ideas for schemes? How'd you make the wing? Gimme!

BTW you may want to change the designation before the TSR.2 JMNs get here....

Oh, could you please post more pics of the 112? I'm totally in Love with it. That's right, with a capital L.

Eddie M.

Those are very fine builds and I appreciate everyone sharing with all of us B) . Y'all have given me a few ideas, especially the MiG-39 and the X-15A3. Thanks for putting them up guys. For those of you who haven't posted yours, we're waiting......... :P  ;)  :D

Heh, thank you kindly.  The 112 and the Strike 23 were real labors of love.  As to the wings..

Sit back and I'll tell you a tale.  It begins with an ARII 1/144 scale Tomcat.  Now what I did was glue them in the swept position.  Then I glued the horizontal stabilizers to the trailing edge of the wings to make one big delta.  Then, I glued the vertical stabilizers to the wing tips at a downward angle to make that high speed trough like on the B-70 (Yes, as I see it, the wingtips "flap").  Then I added a ton of putty and began the thankless task of sanding.

I have one more pic, though once I get some more work done on her, I intend to take a bunch more.  Current scheme is probably going to be similar (if not darn near identical) to the anti-flash white proposed for the F-108 Rapier.

EDIT: Yes, the 112 has 4 engines; two conventional, two ramjet.

Now here's the funny part Eddie, the Mig-39 was inspired by you.  I pulled it out of the box, just looked at it for a while and thought "What would Eddie do with this sucker?"  And those were the results.  :D

I'm totally drooling over your Jaguar, (Mine looks anemic, all I did was change the wing) your Stealth and the two Dale Brown homages by K5054NZ and Shasper!

Thanks! B) I do believe your 117 hybrid is got better lines than mine. Your 112 is also a very good looker. :) I can thank Zac for that inspiration with the Jag. Thanks Hombre! :ar:
Shasper, you've got some good looking ideas there. I hope you don't mind me borrowing the space plane w/ stack idea. That is absolutely brillant use of parts. Hats off!! B)

To think that I, of all people, inspired the greatest hybrid builder of recent memory brings a tear to my eye. Cheers Eddie.

I want a 112.
