This is now a go and about as official as thing are gonna get around here, hopefully some nice administrator will move this to its own forum in the GB topic.

1. Build runs from March 1st 2006- June 18th 2006

2. All entries must be posted in appropriate thread by midnight Monday June 19th

3. Winner will be determined by a popular vote the following week.

4. All entries must be a WIF/prototype or cancelled project, nothing that saw real life service.

5. Any Airfix kit/mold is eligible Planes, tanks, cars, ships, Wallace and Gromit, Footballers as long as it was originally released under the Airfix banner, so I believe that should allow MPC kits and others any questions on the eligibility and I know there are experts here who can rule on that stuff. ( but come on how hard is it to find an Airfix kit?)

6. All models must be based on an Airfix kit, aftermarket, scratchbuilding, kitbashing is allowed within reason as long as declared, but the finished product must be recognisable as coming from an Airfix mold.

7. No TSR.2s (that's another build)

8. Have fun.

And the winner gets

3rd place- choice of an MPC Hurricane or Airacobra without the bonus crewmen 'cos that's what I bought them for.

2nd place- Buccaneer NA 39 original decals are missing

1st place- Fairey Rotodyne complete and the left over Hurricane/Airacobra.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

I think no TSR.2s 'cos I don't wanna take away from participation in that build seeing as that's the one alot of people have been waiting for for years.

Buccaneer in Falklands conflict sounds like a WIF to me.  The fine print is doing a prototype that existed then went on to see service such as the NA.39 straight out of the box.

I'll let the winner decide whether he wants the Na.39 or the Rotodyne. last time I did this Greg opted for the secondprize when he won the one week build.

Looks like that NA39 box top is a whif!    Wow, never knew the Royal Navy landed Buccs during Japanese kamikaze attacks

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I'M IN, been waiting for this one for a long bloody time now. I'll even build something other than the 2 kits I built for the GB last time 'round.  Nice start date as well, gives me time to think of an appropriate subject

I guess I started crosskitting the Me-109 & Avro 504 too early for them to be eligible for this GB so I'll probably submit a suitably mangled Airfix P-40E. Unless of course I'm able to raid the LHS again...

P.S. I'm still willing to donate my 1/72 Airfix Short Stirling as a prize. It's got all the parts needed to build the Mk. I version.

Hmm, I may be in - either a RAuxAF Hawk 100 or an Agressor Lightning....

Hopefully this is going to have its own topic thing soon in the GB subforum.....

QuoteI'm tempted to enter a TSR2 for the hell of it....
Yeah you would, troublemaker!

Look all things are negotiable and I really don't care, so what the hell....

TSR.2s are eligible  but they must be Airfix ^_^

And I'm not postponing the end date to 2007 to accomodate the release so it's probably a moot point.

And Brian seeing as this all happened very suddenly after looking like it might not get off the ground for so long if you wanna put the Me 109/Avro on hold for six weeks I think we can allow it as an entry. Go on treat yourself build another in the interim, 'cos it would be nice to have some of the newer blood around here participate. Not like we're real sticklers for rules around here.

All things are negotiable.

Leigh, does an Arifix Gripen work here? I'm thinking it might not if it's the Italaeri molds in a 'fix box.

I'm in and 70% done with construction already.  ;)  Of course, the weather may continue to bedevil my painting efforts.  Where is my "shaking my fist at an uncaring universe" smiley?  ;)

Worrying about reboxed kits would add way too much headache. It seems every kit company is copying/borrowing/etc. from everybody else. I say if you've got a Gripen kit that says 'Airfix' on the box, it's eligible regardless of where the mold originally came from.
