Vacform Group Build rules

Okay, here are the rules and regs for This Kit Sucks! My thanks and apologies to Leigh for poaching a couple of his rules.
1. Only vacform kits are allowed. Vacform for this GB means the main airframe must be vaccuum-formed. Obviously you can use injection-moulded, resin or white metal parts, but the main airframe MUST be vacform. So, for example, a vacformed Martin-Baker MB-5 with injection-moulded P51 wings is NOT allowed, but a vacform MB5 with Mustang undercarriage is.

2. The GB will start on April 1 and run for five months - finishing on August 1. This length may be changed before the GB starts, but it is this long as vacforms are naturally time-consuming for most modellers.

3. The prizes will be a vacform kit donated from John Howling Mouse's stash, as well as our reverence and astonishment at your ability to turn deformed plastic sheet into THAT! We will add a pic of the prize when JHM has decided what it shall be.

4. The winner and/or winners will be decided by a poll over the following week, concluding on August 8. Coincidentally this is my birthday. What a surprise.

Hey, has this group-build officially been "sanctioned" yet by the What If powers that be?  I didn't see it in the actual Group Build listing with the others yet.

If this GB makes the cut, I'll pull a vac-form kit from my stash as a prize (like adding insult to injury in a vacform group-build, eh?).

Don't think it really matters Baz it took months before the F-Teenybopper and Twin Tail builds got moved into the group build section, and you damn well know there is nothing official around here. As long as two people want to do it sounds like a group build to me.

Zac are prototypes that never went into production allowed? I have one Vac-Form kit and may try to join in but it seems a bit silly to try to WIF what is essentially already a WIF.

Fair enough Lee - I just thought it may, like the Airfix GB, conflict with the TSR.2 one, but I'd love to see a Eagle or two. Updating the rules now. ^_^

So still no chance you'll be in? Still "nay, nay and thrice nay"?

My two cents:   throw the doors open to any vac built in this time period...hell, the things are whiff from the get go.  LOL.

OK well I struck out asking around for a vac at the local IPMS meeting last night. Now that the members of Three Rivers IPMS think I'm nuts, does anyone have a vac they're willing to part with? Otherwise, I'll have to get a Wings kit (or two) from Don's Model Works.

I'd love to see some, if not all, of these guys put X-Acto to styrene sheet and make our own vacform pact so to speak.

I spent two days cleaning out my "storage/fileroom" and I do have a 1:72 Wings Yak-36 vacform kit I'd like to donate as a prize to the cause.  Nothing spectacular but it is a prize...

Even though I had some in the stash...I couldn't say no to this one for three bucks...what the hell is it though?  It looks like some sort of weird A-26 ?
