QuoteStill one of the coolest pieces of armor I've ever seen...now, we just need to have tamigawa make a production version for those of us less skilled !

Thanks for the compliment!

Less skilled?! I mean man your painting a bird on a hind by hand!

Sisko, what's the chassis of the dreadnaught based on?  For some reason it looks familiar, but I can't put my finger on why.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, that Land Dreadnought is totally kick-donkey!!!

I'm sat here trying to work out what Tanks and scale all the different pieces are.  We've got Tigers, King Tigers, Panzer IVs, Wirbelwinds...the tracks on the main chassis look like King Tigers?

Is the base kit 1/16 or 1/35 btw?

Oh, and very nice Ta183 :)

The dreadnaught chassis is a 1/35 scale dragon E-100.

The top turret is from a 1/48th scale king tiger(cant remeber by whom) and the rest are bits and pieces from assorted 1/72 scale armour. Hasagawa and airfix mainly. The side spopnsons and guns are all scratch built as is the top superstructure.

The equipment storage and fuel tanks are made from deodorant bottles. As a Sci-Fi modeller I am always scrounging for interesting bottles containers and nic nacks to use in projects. Kinda like this one.

The Ta-183 was a dream to build and would gladly buy another.

Can't recomend it enough.

This is my last night for posting regularly for some time as I am going away for about 5 weeks. Will try to pop in from time to time.

Cheers Stuart

Amazing. Simply amazing.   :o
I continue to be blown away by your finished product, Sisko.
Makes us all the more eager to see the dreadnaught finished as well.

My own, similar idea was a "land destroyer" with a 1:35 tank body riding on four independent 1:72 tank chassis (how do you do that as a plural?).  Would basically end up as a 1:72 scale, multi-turretted naval destroyer that is surface-based.  I have the little tanks for the multiple tread sets but...

... I like your idea even better.

I'll bet a lot of us drew tanks bristling with all sorts of guns when we were kids, eh?

She came out Gorgeous!  I'd like to get my finished product up to that level!
