QuoteMy own, similar idea was a "land destroyer" with a 1:35 tank body riding on four independent 1:72 tank chassis (how do you do that as a plural?).  Would basically end up as a 1:72 scale, multi-turretted naval destroyer that is surface-based.  I have the little tanks for the multiple tread sets but...
Baz, you simply have to do this!!!  B)

Sales of Airfix kits plummeted in the 1980s, and GCSEs had to be made easier as a result - James May

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Ahhhhh Technical Virtue I loved that site.

It was a pity the guy had to take it off the air.

Plenty of inspiration to be had.

No progress on the dreadnaught at the moment. I am away for some time.

However I took my king tiger with me so I will post pics soon. also have the Star Wars republic cruiser from EPIII to build.

Well how time has flown since the last post.

I never did build the republic cruiser. It basically sat in my suitcase so the box could become a little more damaged. I really go for a damaged box. mmmm that didn't really come out the way I intended.

I did however finish my king tiger which some may have seen posted in another thread. I also managed to get completed Robbie from Forbidden Planet (what a dog) and the Droid Tank from Episode III.

The Droid tank has the distinction of actually taking longer to paint than to build. But it looks pretty good, am happy with the overall result considering I had no idea what colours to paint it! I had to go scouring the web to find references. I actuall watched the movie a couple of times but it was not much help.

Robbie from Forbbiden planet is clear proof that they give Sci-Fi kits to the Junior engineers to tool up. This is a theory that a good friend of mine has and after this kit I tend to agree. I think that an Autistic, Dyslexic, numerically challenged 2 year old could have tooled this kit better.

I am happy to have finished the kit however it is a 4 footer.

Anyway I should get to the point of the post. I have made some some serious progress on my land Dreadnaught. I have added various bits and pieces and am getting it ready for painting. :tank:

Once again I have changed my mind as to what alternate history this beast will be taking part in. You will just have to wait until the paint goes on. I will however post some picks of the current status soon. I don't want to appear to be a tease! :P

Sisko that Land Dreadnought has gotta be the absolute BEST armor whiff I've ever seen! I can't wait to see how you handle the paint scheme and weathering.
