Anything more than "looks nice"?

What, is the kit a secret project or something?

Sorry if that sounds testy, but with the people that have seen it, or built it, it would just be nice to see something a little more comprehensive when I open a post about the kit. I know there is a full build in the latest SAMI, which I am waiting to recieve, but it would be nice to hear a bit more information or even personal opinions from those lucky enough to have a preview....

Cheers

I agree wholeheartedly with Tony.

QuoteWould that be the test shot owned by Neil "Barnsley Hobbit" Robinson or one of the actual ones brought in by Trevor Snowden?

As for the, er, shape, judging by the photos it could be a Red Beard rather than the WE177.
According to Geoff its one of the production kits shipped over by air for the Toy Fairs last week in London and next week in Nuremburg. The kit is one of Trevs so no chance of getting your mits on it Wooks, we'll jst have to wait till the end of the month :(

I recon that was the one built by Gary hatcher for the SAMI article.

Thanks Geoff, wasn't trying to bust your balls and I actually appreciate comments from someone not as interested in the aircraft as you will tend to give a more balanced assesment. As a guesstimate, how big was the box for those of us fronting for overseas postage?

QuoteI'd say about the size of the ones the Buccaneer and the Javelin used to come in.  But then again, given the sprue sizes I could be wrong.
I think it will be in a bigger box Lee to help justify the price hike to £16.99, something like the Stirling/Halifax sized boxes (and yes we know they could have done it series 4 or 5 it they really wanted to).

Just have to wait till the end of the month for them to finally arrive, then things may go a liitle quite round here for a bit as some of the regulars start to build.

As for the kits, Trev has had a few test shot sprues from his visits and these have been seen and plated with by the aftermarket boys, the SAMI one was created from various bits of these pre-production versions. About 6 actual kits have come over but these have been for review, testing and for the Trade shows in built and unbuilt formats.

Thanks a bunch, Geoff. Much appreciated.

our Humbrol rep told me the production run was 13,000 on wednesday

If the 14800 run quote is correct then it's good news for those that never managed to pre ordet the bird in the first place

Going by various quotes i would hazzard a guess that production was increased but probably so that the 10,000 would meet the domestic orders with the rest to fulifil the export trade as bith were somewhat under-estimated in the original plans. ?

Only a guess mind you, those are just the kit production figures, we don't actually know how many will be boxed and sold as the Airfix BAC TSR2 kit  !!!.
