Yowsa Glenn that's one very cool Meteorite! I love the colorful markings on it! It looks like you managed to combine the best parts of a Meteor and a 262...is that how you built this wonderful bird? Inquiring minds would like to know...

Nice one Glenn!

But when I saw the name the astronomer part of me said 'What does it do, crash on every flight?'  :P

Brian,
The idea was, 'what if' the Western Powers saw how advanced the Me-262 was, compared to their own jets, wouldn't it have been easier, (and better) to turn the German model into 'one of their own'?
Now, for the RAF, the Meteor was the only choise.....
For the US, well.........a Skynight design, or something along those lines?
Russian, well I didn't go that far, it was just an idea!

If i recall right, the russians made several early jets that had the Me 262's general layout(if it works, why not?), but were dismissed by the powers that be as being ripoffs.

Yep, one of them was the Sukhoi Su-9 (not to be confused with the later Su-9/-11 series).
