This will probably be my very first TSR.2 in kit form.* This has taken Yannick "PolluxDeltaSeven" a long time to finish, and he has put more effort into this than I have in me to make one of the suckers! I only hope he can tell you himself how hard he has worked on this one aircraft alone.

ENJOY!

(if anyone wants to see this pic at full size, totally amazing!, just PM myself or Yannick)

I'll leave it for the creative master Yannick to explain NZ8003's current condition:

"-There is 1 white star under the pilote's canopy: that's for an air-to-air kill, made by a IR missile against an Indonesian Hawk Mk.100. Under the WISO canopy, there are three full black stars. That's mean that the 8003 was the leader of 3 allied bombing missions. The 2 empty black stars means that he was the leader during 2 maritime strike missions... And of course, all those missions was successful!!
-For the serial numbers, they are the most weathered markings on the plane. That's normal. The pilotes and crews often repaint the roundels and sometimes the squadron markings because of the too numerous friendly kills over Indonesia. Two German Tornado, a French Mirage and an Italian F-16 were already destroyed like that, and 3 pilotes are dead.
That's also the reason of the black and white marking on the top of the tail: that's the symbol of the Indonesian Crisis for all the allied combat aircraft during the war.
-The whole markings: at the begining, I was planned to draw more markings, with a lot of things writing, like on a F-4 Phantom or something like that. But I decide that wgile the plane was repainted just when the crisis begin, the painter don't loose their time in painting unused marking like "don't step here" or "don't push it"     "

Yannick has also suggested alternative aircraft for the RNZAF's fighter force - F16s, Mirage 2000/4000 (to make up for the Rainbow Warrior bombing), and.....GRIPENS!!!!! Sounds good to me - Swedish all the way!

*BTW, if anyone has any spare lo-viz RNZAF markings in 1:72 that they don't need, I'd very much like to hear from you, as I have absolutely none at all. Or, for that matter, a 1:72 TSR.2 kit. Everything much appreciated!

Sorry guys, photobucket absolutely hates this picture, it's actually larger than 1:72 scale! I'm trying to rectify the problem, stand by. Please be patient, I'd hate to leave you with one miniscule picture - so unsatisfying   !

Oh my...

It makes me want to ditch my F-4s...

:P    :D

Sure, get my hopes up that someone else saw the wisdom of adopting the F-15, when all it is is another ugly TSR.2  :P

Looks good, for a Thunderchicken.

PDS, you are one hell of an artist!  Zac, I sent you a PM to request the full-size image before I got down to PDS's link.  When you click a second time on his pic, it gets even bigger!

I have a 1:48 Dynavector TSR2 kit that is just begging for something different.
I'm torn b/w going the "real-life" road but white will end up looking like one of those painted wooden desktop models.

PDS' camo scheme may be just the ticket.  With the old see-through RCAF roundels in black, of course!

Abso-friggin-lutely phenomenal!

Desktop model? I was going to do the same with one of Lee's pirate models, in the colours of the 1967 demonstrator perhaps. In a "flying attitude", on a stand, with grey or blue canopy. Given to the PM of the time by BAC's rep.

The more Kiwi Eagles the better! C'mon Oll, you can do it!

And Baz, I'm pretty sure the full-size version is close to, or actually is, 1:72! Awesome stuff! I just love the "enhancements" done to the aircraft to make it a GR.6. PD7's next work is to be NZ8004 on delivery, in A4K-style three-tone green green and grey, as seen in the RNZAF A4K in the Modeling Madness Scooters comp. With overwing Sidewinders etc, hopefully!

PM on its way.

Hello you all!!

QuotePDS, you are one hell of an artist!
I'm very happy to see you love it!! I know that the TSR.2 could be a borring plane for some of you, so I try to get this one as beautiful as possible, but still realistic!!

The weathering was the most difficult but -for me- the most interesting stuff to do, specially around the pannel lines, where  the paint souffered from the Polynesian crisis!!

QuoteAnd Baz, I'm pretty sure the full-size version is close to, or actually is, 1:72!

Actually, my own computer's screen is a big 22" one, and the full size drawing looks like some 1:48 model!! That's amazing!!

Voilà, that's all for this week.
I'm sorry, I won't be able to post you the story of this beautiful bird and it's dangerous missions with the Aussies, American and European Allies... It's 2:00Am here, and I have my train to Paris at 10:00AM. And of course, I'm not ready at all!!
So, I leave you ;)

I'll be back next Monday ;)

Have a good week you all!!

Excellent side profile Yannick! Looks like you are learning fast!

Keep up the good work!

Hey Zac give me a shout when you get your TSR.2, I'm sure to have some spare Kiwi roundels here somewhere  :P

Cheers

Richard.
