"MacGuyver" GB

Ok folks since there's been a little interest expressed here's the idea (inspired by Mr. Rat-San's helo-from-a-fishing lure build):

Take anything that's not part of a model kit, e.g. a pen, keychain, old plastic bottle, TV remote, computer parts, etc. and use it as the basis for a What-If aircraft or AFV.

Wings, tails, canopies, wheels, tracks, and guns swiped from a kit are allowed, just so the basis of your build doesn't come from a model kit.

The grand prize would be my 1/72 Airfix Short Sterling Mk. I kit and some ancillary stuff (empty Advil™ bottles, etc.) and a tube of model putty. If anyone wants to offer up more prizes, That'd be great!

Suggestions on the GB timeframe are welcome. Perhaps starting a month or so after the Vac GB?

This sounds like a good way to have some fun and put to good use (or recycle) things that'd just get thrown out.

If it's going to be a MacGuyver build. one of the prizes will have to be a roll of duct tape!

Anyone see the McGuyver Mastercard commercial during the Superbowl?

EDIT: Found it online HERE.

That's a capital idea! A roll of duct tape will be included in the Grand Prize, along with a promotional-type credit card.

Keep those ideas coming!

That commercial's brilliant. MacGyver was one of my favorite series.

Can we kill two builds with one stone and combine it with the
"Aircraft Display Stand" build?

don't forget the chewed gum, and the book of matches with two left and the first one never lights.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Ya know Leigh, that looks more like a helicopter fuselage to me...  ;)

Yeah, I'd be up for this one. Count the Kiwi in!

I'm in.  I'm going to get my six-year-old to help me see what's in our house with a whole new perspective.

Wow I'm impressed at the level of interest in this GB! I propose a start date of May 1 and an end date of Sept. 1. Any idea who I should contact to make this official? As always, I welcome any and all suggestions regarding the timeframe and rules. Please see the Poll on the Grand Prize and cast your vote!

In my pleading thread to make the Vacform GB official, Leigh recommended a PM to Throvic. I sent mine immediately, but Leigh also mentioned not to hold your breath. That's just as well, cos I can only do that for 15sec or so anyway.

HTH my friend!

Supertom

Wait, just how many people are interested in the vacform group build?

I feel that's enough to justify making it official. If not, oh well, I still want to go ahead with it.
