Leigh, what primer do you use?  Looks freakin' beautiful for Sci-Fi stuff.

Right to answer some questions

Rust-o-leum light gray auto primer, I usually use Wal-Mart equipment grey (94 cents a can), can't tell the difference. I'll often use primer as a base grey colour for camo schemes seems silly to paint grey on top of grey. Both these primers will buff up to an almost gloss finish with a very light wet sanding of 2000 grit or even just a cotton t-shirt.

Ramp door, and that drove me nuts and took along time to figure out how to build it  so it would operate properly without leaving a huge gap in either the open or closed position. Even though the finished product will be glued open. Can you say insanity?

No even though Jonelle's out of town I've not even touched it in a month. Been in one of those modelling funks where I just don't have the impetus. In fact I've been a bit down in general. Lot of stuff going on right now, just real life and I know it will pass, even tried a quick build last weekend of a completely unusual subject (for me anyways) as a tonic to the AMS blues and now that's languishing 75% done. But I did by a new guitar a few weeks ago so been spending alot of time playing depressing melancholy song on that  . Good news is I re-strung my Mandolin and Irish drinking songs always make you upbeat.

And also with Jonelle gone I've been very ..erm.. let's say been a while since I got a ........hug. Yeah that's it a hug.

Right finally back to this beast and what was hours at the bench, got some stuff done but still got a long way to go but the end is almost in sight. The end for me right now is closing up the fuselage
Yet more cabin plumbing and most of the cockpit done, with the help of the Eduard Chinook detail set. Hmmm I love P.E. seatbelts.

Those of you who've built the Rotodyne know the sparesness of the office and the gaping holes that allow you to see right through the front wheel well, well of course it's Airfix

Things really start coming alive with just a little bit of colour, Here we go with the tailgate that looks so simple but was an engineering nightmare. Alot of the greeblies are taken from the Revell Bruckenlegepanzer Biber (bridge laying tank beaver) Which I bought for less than $10 specificallly to raid for bits for this.
Note to the Aircraft Modellers it seems that 1/72 armour is a great source for fiddly bits to tart up yer planes/dioramas etc.

Also figured out the seating arrangement. Got those done. Scratchbuilt fire extinguishers, two life rafts made from foil that seals up coffee tins, and a chest of drawers. The purpose of the drawers will be revealed later.

WOW!!!

I love it, and as they say the devil is in the details.

The armoured pilot seats are especially neat too because when I saw them I was easily able to imagin a mission, and the sound as a bullet ricochets off the armour. Thick enough to stop a bullet but not so large that the pilot can't stick his had around it and flip the bird at the shooter.

Great work, as always.

Oh man!!! That is simply superb...The detail in the cockpit and the interior details are stunning.
