Hey, Nev: I just saw your knitting collection!!!

First set of decals are on.  Yeah, I'm missing an "RCAF" on the Starboard side.  I ran out!  Leading Edge isn't making them anymore and the last few sets of simple letters I've tried to print out as my own decals failed miserably (including some civvie registration I was trying to do for Ollie   :(

That aircraft is beautiful! Looking forward to seeing you fly it around the house. ;)   Your tutoral is a blessing to me.   I can't believe that I was knocking myself out trying to do what you just described. Outstanding and informative. Thank you. :)

I agree with Eddie, the tutorial was great and I have already used the scotch tape trick successfully with some styrene to fill in some hatches and doors that needed to be closed...an awesomely effective tip!

Thanks to all.

Ian, this was mainly the 1:72 Italeri Ju-88 Mistel that Sisko sent me for 2005 Secret Santa build.  Thanks, Sisko!

Nose modified (widened) from an old 1:48 Testors/Hawk P-51 Mustang.  Top 1/3 of fuselage from a Monogram 1:48 Texan.  Part of the tailfin, cockpit, wheel wells and doors were scratchbuilt.

The entire in-progress build and as many "how-to" tips I could come up with can still be seen at the Secret Santa Group Build thread (you just have to remember to select "The Beginning" from the time frame menu pick or you won't see the thread):
