Weekend Build

Yes, I feel bad that I have pushed my RN Corsair II to the back of the bench, but I'm very much a "mood modeler", in that I have to be in a mood to see the finished product to have any enthusiasm for a build. Unfortunately, right now I'm not in the mood for an RN aircraft, so the A-7 will have to sit until I am (next week hopefully!).

Instead, I'm doing a quick weekend build of something I am in the mood for.

It's a dreary day here in western NC, with some storms forecast, so not much outside stuff to do. I'll probably to lunch, thetake the kids to lunch, then they go to the grandparent's tonight, so Mrs. AD and I can have a "date night". Tomorrow is free though, so I figure out of the next 36 hours I can get in at least 15 good building hours-more than enough for this project.

So, I'll post first pics later this afternoon. Just to make it really fun, if anyone can guess the aircraft and markings before then I'll send them a free kit (a cheapie, but a complete one).

Close. In fact your gues ahs several of the same letters in it as the correct answer!

Keep trying!

2 hours in-cockpit painted, almost assembled. Airbrake interior/door masked and painted.

Other parts removed and dry fitted.

Hmmm, You mentioning Brazillian A-1H Skyraider's and Skyshark's, just had an image of a NMF Skyshark in French markings pop into my head...........hmmm.......

OK, 6 hours into the build, and the fuselage is together.

The wing is dryfitted (beautiful fit!), gear bays painted, gear painted, and drop tanks assembled.

There's going to be almost no filling, and most seams will look good with a little scrape and a light sanding.

More pics later.

Any guesses about the end user? (no free kit if you guess it, but I will drink a beer in your honor).

End user? USAF TacAir in Vietnam, the only F-100 user that rocks like Chuck Norris!

Vietnam it may be, but USAF it won't.

Although an AFRES F-100 in Euro-1 and shark mouth would also look awesome!

I may keep the AFRES or ANG Euro-1 F-100 scheme for a future build

Can't wait to see more! BTW what do you think of the Hawk so far?
