Decals for instruments, noseweight trimmed to fit (from RC car wheel weights) and
the nose re-shape in progress (using styrene stock as a filler):

Because I need to raise the sidewalls higher, I'll need more greeblies on the extensions.   This "touring/sport" plane will end up having more black boxes than an SR-71!!!   :o

Wings and reshaped nose are puttied (yuck, what a mess).

Second sidewalls c/w greeblies and a first aid kit and pics of the sidewalls attached to fuselage.

To show you just how crude the nose is starting out:

And, wish me luck with aligning/blending in the mismatched canopy from a Matchbox Meteor (dipped in Future and slightly reshaped).  Coaming was cut from a 1:48 scale Italeri Skyraider kit's droptank:

  It appears that you are working your styrene mojo as always...superb!

Woah Mr Howling Mouse that work on the canopy and engine is excellent! I love that little fairing you added behind the canopy to fill the gap. It really makes this look unique. I have a feeling that by the time you're finished, no one would recognize it as a Stuka. I'm watching in rapt interest!

Bit of a T-28 vibe goin' on there too !

Great work/pics JHM keep 'em coming.

Thanks, guys.  I really effed up on the tailplane.  Was very proud of myself as I had managed to render a 60 thou plastic chunk into a nice aerofoil shape in less than 15 minutes.  It's much quicker working in 1:72 scale scratchbuilding.

Then, I looked back at my little cardboard template and suddenly realized that  I made the aerofoil shape exactly backwards!  Was going to do another one but then figured that it was close enough for government work.  Count the rivets, gentlemen.  You'll find there is one missing.  Just for the JMN's!

Uh Barry?  I think you might want to count again...it appears you have one too many rivets

Lookin' good!

Aw nuts!  The backwards shape was one thing but now I really must redo the whole thing!   ;)

It's also stuck in perpetual putty/sand/repeat mode, Ian.
Nothing worth taking a pic of, at this point.
Need to get the canopy glued in place, then have to putty it too.

Did some really stupid things on this model and it's no one's fault but my own.  <_<

But, for now, one of the scariest steps is done: the patchwork set of filler styrene bits are cut and positioned and the canopy is glued in place.   :(

Good night little model.  Dry well.  We have plenty of reshaping and puttying to do tomorrow...

That is so totally not a Stuka anymore!  I think it's looking pretty good but hey I'm not the one with the putty and sandpaper

Woah Mr Howling Mouse you've really taken that Stuka to a whole new level! That new canopy really makes this one an eye-catcher!
