There is only one glaring problem with your hangar:

Um,

It's sitting in the wrong house.   :dum:

I'll, ah, PM you with my home address later:

A wonderful piece of work that hangar, Matrixone! It seems every bit of plastic you touch turns into modelling gold. Maybe you should change your handle to MidasOne. Those b/w pics look like historic artifacts.

Thanks John and Brian!

Here are a few more pics, hope you like these too.

This pic is of the back of the hanger, it is painted in a special ''tree'' camouflage pattern as seen in a picture of a German hanger on page 11 of ''Wings of the Black Cross Vol.3

In my former line of work as a photographic interpreter/imagery analyst, the black and white imagery provided the most intelligence information available since there are so many variations of gray between absolute white and absolute black.  I really like your black and white images as it really makes your subjects stand out in much greater detail than a color image can provide.

I am speechless at the quality of the build of that hanger Matrix. It's stuning. he B&W photos look like the real thing.

How can I even begin to describe what a great job you have done on this?

Fantastic job all the way around!

Thanks for the kind words Jeffry, lancer, elmayerle, and Jeff G.!

This will be my last picture post for a while as I have nothing left to photograph and I am building a model for somebody else right now so it will be weeks/months before anything new will be available to photograph.
I had planned on building a 1/32 scale He 162 in real markings but I will probably do a 1/72 scale model or two first so I can pose them next to the new hanger in some new pics. I want to have plenty of new models built and ready to photograph by summer, around here summers can be short so I need to take advantage of nice weather whenever I can.

Yep, well your last hangar pic just fooled my wife.  I tricked her by saying, "Wouldn't it be cool if I could build a diorama based on a hangar like this?"

She replied, "Sure, that would be great but probably too hard to do."

Then, I admitted that your pic was actually of a scale model and not a full-scale building.

It doesn't get any more realistic than that, my friend!   :D

Thank you for the encouraging words!

Now that the hanger is done I need to build better small scale models to go with that hanger and might try and build a model with the engine cowling open or removed to show the engine being worked on by the ground crew.
Also some battle damaged a/c would look good too.

That shot is magnificent Matrixone! How in the world did you get that FW to look like it's on fire? Firecrackers? Sparklers? Gunpowder? Wow impressive!

Brian da Basher

Thanks Brian!

The fire on the Fw 190A is all digital, no models were harmed in the making of that picture.

Someday I will build a shot down airplane with a lot more detail and add digital fire to that one and it should be much better looking. The picture above was my first attempt at such a thing and with some practice I think I could make a convincing looking image.

Thanks Wooksta!

Agreed, the Heller Fw 190A is not a very good kit. But at least most of the parts fit and it did not require much putty to fill the seams.
The DML 1/72 scale Ta 152C I built a few weeks ago was really awful with most stages of assembly needing much care in dry fitting and in some areas putty/sanding was needed and it took a long time to get a good finish, when I was nearly done with the model I tried to get the tailwheel strut installed in the fuselage and no matter what I tried it would not fit. After looking at some drawings of Fw 190 tailwheel struts I could easily see what the problem was...the strut was molded front to back and was unusable so I snapped off the tail wheel on the Heller Fw 190 pictured above and glued it in place. Not very good looking I know but it was better than the DML kit part!

Right now I am building a DML kit for somebody else and am concerned about the fit problems I might face building this one too.
