I see that Arnold released his A-40 Mermaid kit.  Anyone know the size difference between it and the Be-200?  I've got a Be-200 kit from Russia, and am curious about the size difference.

The 'Mermaid' is quite a bit larger, at 136 ft span and 189000 lbs AUW as against 107 ft and 90000 lsb AUW for the Be-200.
Thanks!  Looks like I'll need to save up for the Mermaid...  Noooo, my wallet hasn't cried in pain enough this year...

Gods, I want to get my hands on some of the Anigrand stuff - like... a fair few of the bombers.  Awesome stuff, if I can ever find the damn budget to get it!!!
I think Nostalgic Plastic has some Anigrand kits for something like 50% off in some cases, but you need to deep dive the site to find them.

I might see what I can find, but I noticed a lot of their Anigrand listings seemed to be marked up enough to compensate for the rumored free shipping and then some.  I'll have to see if they happen to have any of the 144 stuff I'd love to get my grubby hands on or what not, in the hidden discount racks.

Yeah, Nostalgic Plastic incorporates the shipping from Hong Kong into their price usually.  That's why I buy direct from Arnold, but deals like the one for the XA-41 make me still visit (and save for) NP's site.

XA-41 at Anigrand's site for $52.00 (US; includes shipping)
XA-41 at NP For $32.00 (US)

Like I said, you need to deep dive the site to find the deals.  There's at least two others I know of in there... somewhere...

The parts pic is up for the C-141A (released 24th Nov) in 1/144th scale. http://www.anigrand.com/images/items/AA404...-141A_parts.gif
Added to the future releases page are the 1/144th scale Short Sperrin (Dec 09) and Bartini-Beriev VVA-14M1P (Jan 2010 and great artwork on this one) and a new announcement is a 1/72nd scale Lockheed Jetstar (also due Jan 2010). No seperate pages for them yet. http://www.anigrand.com/future_releases.htm
Really want a 1/72nd Jetstar but it's bound to be out of my price range, same with the Bartini.

Ugh, blech...  I just threw up in my mouth a little when I saw the price and shipping of the Imperial Class Star Destroyer.

Looks like a beautiful kit, but I can have one gonzo eBay blitz for that kind of money.

Wow... k I just had to push my Eyes back into their sockets from jumping out at that price.  Three hundred bucks, for a Star Destroyer... thank god my capital ship fetish doesn't go THAT far...

Could be worse you might want to do the Command ships in the same scale !!!!

While I might dream of doing as such one day... I would, alas, need my Garage or my Shed to house that monster.  I would opt for the Garage, owing to the large door, should I wish to move (and trust me, I do).

That, and to merely purchase the ISD, I would sacrifice bodily parts that I am quite happily attatched to, to SWMBO.  So no.  I love Star Wars, but not That much.

Duncan'll probably get three of them.....

From the scuttlebutt over at StarshipModeler, the Anigrand kit my be a good seller to the guys over there.  There's apparently a 38" ISD that goes for $600 (!), and it's wanting.  Arnold's ISD is getting lots of praise and it ain't even out yet.

Still would rather spend the money on something else, but good to see Arnold might sell quite a few of the beasts.

I agree, good to see he'll be making return on the investment in creating that.  I'm dreaming smaller, of some of their bombers, and one of these days, getting one of the Freestyles.  I want to do one of those, I just love the Freestyle.

Well, just assumed you were buying out Arnold from the haul you Anigrand haul you made at Telford!  I've often wondered about the B5 Thunderbolt, but since Frontier Models ask £85 for a 1/72 model, I've declined.
