I don't know about the prop job (I thought it might be a Short Sea Mew at first) but I think the flying wing is the General Aircraft GAL.61 that never flew.

I had to look up Victors being used in Borneo, there's a tiny bit on Wiki & Britains Smallwars that states that they were used in a single offensive mission, the only offensive mission carried out by Victors.

Yes, that GAL.61 looks right on for that silhouette, there were so many tailless devices around then you lose track of them. See this page for some superb modelling of all them! The builder should be one of us!

http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/magazine/2006/06/stuff_eng_hrubisko_tailless.htm

The GAL.61 is the all yellow one.

The Seamew had a VAST plank-like wing (actually all of the Seamew was a plank......) and the tailplane also but with rounded tips, so that lets that out. There's something bugging me about that ultra-short nose and the tapered wings of that silhouette. It'll come to mind in about 6 months of course. :)

As a result of your comment about the Seamew I went and had a look at my Magna resin kit of it. Then I thought better of if and put it away again.... ;)

Ah, so you too can find the Kampfgruppe144 web site then?  <_<

Or they just guesses on someone's part?

If so I'd say Anigrand's silhouette designer's a bit in error. The Firecrest tailplane came directly from a Firebrand and it shoud go straight across at the trailing edge, not taper at all.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I'd say that the Firecrest is spot on.  This model shows some forward sweep to the tails trailing edge, it's also just apparent in a pic in BSP Fighters & Bombers.

Which is way out from what I was thinking, I thought it was some kind of support or liason aircraft!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Me too, would have like to have seen the full scale VentureStar take to the stars, shame it never happened.

Nostalgic Plaastic has announced a trio of new Anigrand kits due in April. First is my favourite of these, the Martin XB-33 Super Marauder in 1/144th scale. http://www.nostalgicplastic.com/comesoon.cfm?DTTM=20090127104133&RequestedTimeout=500&KI=3032
Second, also in 1/144th, is the Consolidated B-32 Dominator. http://www.nostalgicplastic.com/comesoon.cfm?DTTM=20090127104133&RequestedTimeout=500&KI=3031
Both are $90 and will come with extra kits but they haven't been announced yet.
Last one is in 1/72nd scale and is the Handley-Page HP.115 test aircraft for the Concorde for $54. http://www.nostalgicplastic.com/comesoon.cfm?DTTM=20090127104133&RequestedTimeout=500&KI=3030

GULP!

$54 for a 1/72 scale HP115? I was looking at the full size one last week and I don't think that it cost that much to build for real anyway!

I just checked my old Maintrack vacform (and excellently moulded it is too) and the price sticker says £5.50............

Anigrand have posted pages for the 1/144th scale Lockheed XB-30 Constellation "Connie Bomber" http://www.anigrand.com/AA4030_XB-30.htm , Douglas XB-31 Raidmaster http://www.anigrand.com/AA4031_XB-31.htm and Consolidated B-32 Dominator http://www.anigrand.com/AA4032_B-32.htm

As usual there are three extra kits with these bombers so it's time to play guess the silhouettes again. Only one I think I know on the XB-30 page is the Fisher P-75 Eagle (third silhouette).
XB31 comes with the Northrop XP-56 Black Bullet, Vultee XP-54 Swoose Goose and the Curtiss XP-55 Ascender.
B-32 comes with light bombers/fighters, 1st may be the XP-58 Chain Lightning? or maybe the Hughes D2? (predecesor of the XF-11 recon plane) 2nd is the McDonnell XP-67 Moonbat and 3rd is possibly the North American XB-28. If anyone has any better ID's of them feel free to have your say!

Love the artwork for the Connie Bomber.

and he'll probably give you more interest than the bank... although I think that the Raidmaster could do with a larger vertical tail

True on both accounts Mike  ;D
