Well, it's started!Port fuselage, cockpit and crew. So far, only the crew, Airfix.
The thing is, here in Brisbane, to actually find a Vacform model in a 'hobbyshop' is rare indeed! There's a PX in May, you never know!

Zac,
Sorry there are no shots of construction......it was just so easy to build, and was at this stage in a week. As you can see, it's no longer a BE-2, it's now a Polikarpov I-11. The stage before the I-15, but the top wing now is more like the I-153.

Modifications....The fuselage from nose to tail and the lower wing, as per kit.
The top wing has been reverse cranked, the floats removed and normal undercart added.
Kit parts...Pilot, Airfix Bf-109G/ Gunner, Airfix Hudson/Taliwheel Bf-109G/Main wheels, Westland Wallace.
Circa 1934~36

Glen you've surpassed yourself - I love it but Brian de B will want Spats  :P

Can't wait to see her finished
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Mmmm yes a couple gobs of putty, shaped and sanded or a bit of smashuforming and you're spat-ful! Fantastic work there Glenn!

Well, the last shot before the paint goes on! She's resting on the original VP plan and instructions. The next shot you'll see, she'll be flying in her new paint......

The Polikarpov I-11 was the last of their two seater fighters, next to be followed by the I-15. Although only 84 of these aircraft were built, 15 were sold overseas. This plane was found in a swamp on the border of Boliva and Paraguay in 1997. In restoration terms, 'it was a basic airframe, just'!
Sold to the Alpine Fighter Collection in New Zealand, this is it's first official photo shoot since gaining flight status. Soon to be seen for the AirSho season, and now painted in it's Paraguayan AirForce markings as last seen in the 'CHACO WAR' that raged from 1932~1936.

I was fortunte enough to spy the I-11 on the flightline at Wanaka last month, but, against all probability, my camera's batteries died. Damn.

Glenn, wow. I, could, we, Lana, WOW!

Damn, I wish I had the time and the guts and the stick-to-it-ness to tackle a vac!

So. Damned. Awesome.

More pics? Perhaps of her outside the AFC hangar? Please? As your GB Leader, I demand it!!!!

Glenn I'm always completely amazed by your work and this cool little I-11 is no exception! As yours is the first completed Vac GB entry, I think it's fair to say you've set the bar very high for the rest of us. My hat's off to this great little vacuform!

Glenn

Zac, funny you should ask! I'm looking for a photo from and Airsho (Flypast/Warbirds down under) of a line up of a few 'classics' and then shoot the I-11 taxing in front of them...................on joy so far.
