It also looks like the wing profile is different, but that could be a visual trick.

As to the Su-30, you're missing the Su-30KN by Zvezda, which does the two-seater Tandem-seater cockpit.
You misunderstand me.  The key word was ACCURATE or at least DETAILED.  I could probably do better portraying those exhausts with toothpaste screw tops.

You could always get the Aires exhausts - their quality is good, and would make up for the weak Zvezda cans, and then do Something about the other details.  Ken Duffey's got a bunch of conversion bits he wrote up if you look for them.

I would be surprised if J-15 did not modify the flap configuration of J-11. Otherwise, carrier landing would be an "interesting" experience for the pilot.

A good shot of J-15.  At least the primer colours seem to suggest to me as such.

Looks like they've reinvented the Su-33 to me . . . But I could be wrong.

One widely-accepted view is that it's the whole point of the exercise, part of an effort to explore the possibility of restoring ex-Varyag back in service (IIRC, Russia wants the PRC to buy 50 to make re-opening the production line worthwhile- maybe PLANAF would eventually need 50, but not in any short notice, so they told the Russians not to count on it).

They basically did.  Originally, they wanted the 50, but also wanted to buy two to "test out."  Russia saw this as a "Just like you wanted to 'test out' our Su-30's that you're now building?" and declined.

In some photos it looks like White, Med Gray, and Gunship Gray.  In others it looks like Lt Gray, Gull Gray, and Sea Blue.  Anyone have any ideas?  Also, does anyone know what this scheme is for?  It looks like an arctic style scheme but I can't find out for sure.

Thanks!

First and Fourth are the same scheme - white, med and gunship give or take.  Russian planes weather out, so there is always room for some discrepency in the colouring.  Second and Third are a different scheme - they're wearing the Su-35 demo splinter worn by only one plane - 901 Black, one of the Su-35 demo planes.  Similar colours, but it's all straight lines and sharp corners.  As to what the scheme is used for, I haven't the foggiest.  I might surmise it's an urban scheme, since those are the colourings usually associated with military urban camo (even in Russian fatigues, they have a couple of urban fatigue patterns marked as gorod or city that are white and greys).

From what I've seen its like the Su-25UTG scheme - Blue over 2-tone gray:

Mind you, I still can't believe no one has brought out a conversion kit at least!

Regarding the Su-27 scheme, it would be a little foolish to suggest US/FS colours.  There can be approximates, but they are only that.  It would depend on the level of accuracy required I guess.

Perhaps redstar72 has some more detailed info given his location and interests?  He's a gold mine of Soviet/Russian artwork.

Why do so many companies insist on sending their manufacturing  to China, and then act surprised when the Chinese begin making copies AGAIN?  :banghead:
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.
